Stanley served a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance in 2012 and endured some growing pain at Springfield in 2013, but he showed enough at the Double-A level in 2014 (.283/.340/.429 with 12 homers) to warrant protection from the Rule 5 draft.
