1B Jefry Marte was placed on the 10-day disabled list Friday, retroactive to Sept. 5, with a fractured left foot. Marte suffered the injury while playing for Triple-A Salt Lake, but it was not diagnosed until after he was promoted to the Angels.

The Los Angeles Angels selected the contract of outfielder Shane Robinson on Friday.Robinson, 32, appeared in 14 games with the Angels earlier this season and went 5-for-25 with six runs scored and one RBI. Robinson owns a .227 average in 430 career games with Los Angeles, St. Louis and Minnesota.The Angels also placed infielder Jefry Marte on the 10-day disabled list with a left foot fracture. The move for Marte, who is batting .173 in 45 games, is retroactive to Tuesday.To create a spot on the 40-man roster for Robinson, Los Angeles designated right-hander Brooks Pounders for assignment. 1B Jefry Marte was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake. He had been optioned to Salt Lake on Aug. 25. He's hitting .173 with four homers and 14 RBIs in 127 at-bats with the Angels this year.

INF Jefry Marte was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake with Yunel Escobar on the disabled list with a right oblique strain. Marte, who hit .176 in 39 games with the Angels earlier this season, was batting .285 with nine home runs and 38 RBIs in 42 games for the Bees. "He's really started to swing the bat to his capability, really picked it up," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We're happy he's up here and we'll give him another look."

SS Jefry Marte of the Dominican Republic has agreed to an estimated $3 million signing bonus with the Twins. The 16-year-old switch-hitter is the No. 3 ranked international prospect. Sunday was the first day clubs could sign international players.

1B-3B Jefry Marte was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake City. He hit .183 with four home runs and 11 RBI early this season before he was demoted.

1B-3B Jefry Marte was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake after Friday's game. He was hitting .175 with 13 RBIs as the Angel searched for offense from first base. Marte had an egregious error (on a routine pop up he misjudged) in Thursday's game against the Twins that started a three-run ninth-inning rally. Marte broke into the majors with Detroit in 2015 and last season hit 15 home runs with 44 RBIs for the Angels. His two errors at first base this season are his seventh at 1B in 76 career games.

1B Jefry Marte, now hitting just .179, scored the winning run, getting a leadoff walk in the seventh and scoring without a base hit, thanks to two more walks and a wild pitch. Marte has only eight walks compared to 24 strikeouts this season.

INF/OF Jefry Marte was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday to take the roster spot of injured 3B Yunel Escobar. Marte technically was sent down to Salt Lake on Sunday to make room on the roster for 1B C.J. Cron, but never actually left Anaheim. He could get some starts at third base, in addition to first base and left field.
