Tue Apr 1617:26Christian Yelich Lands On Injured List
The Milwaukee Brewers placed outfielder Christian Yelich (back) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 13) on Tuesday with a lower-back strain and recalled infielder/outfielder Owen Miller from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Yelich was put on the IL after not playing since last Friday. This is definitely an injury that could linger for the 32-year-old Yelich, so fantasy managers should be prepared to be patient if he's forced to miss more than 10 days. Keep him stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues after he started the year hitting .333 (13-for-39) with five home runs, 11 RBI and two steals in 11 games. Blake Perkins is starting in center field and batting sixth against the San Diego Padres and right-hander Dylan Cease on Tuesday, but Joey Wiemer could also see additional playing time in Milwaukee's outfield until Yelich is able to return.

Mon Apr 1518:30Christian Yelich Sitting Out On Monday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the San Diego Padres. The veteran outfielder has been sidelined since being forced to exit early on Friday due to back discomfort. For the moment Yelich is considered as day-to-day, but fantasy managers shouldn't be shocked if Yelich ends up on the injured list. Sal Frelick will bat third and cover left field during Monday's game.

Sun Apr 1412:25Christian Yelich Remains Out On Sunday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. The veteran outfielder continues to deal with back discomfort and will be held out of at least one more game. At the moment, fantasy managers should consider Yelich as day-to-day. However, Yelich could end up heading to the injured list if the issue continues to linger. Joey Wiemer will cover left field and bat eighth versus right-hander Corbin Burnes on Sunday. Fantasy managers should probably stay away from Wiemer in this tough matchup.

Sat Apr 1313:22Christian Yelich Held Out Of Saturday's Lineup
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Yelich exited Friday's game early with a lower back discomfort. The 32-year-old has had a history of back issues, and the Brewers will be cautious with their star outfielder and rest him on Saturday. He is considered day-to-day, with the series finale on Sunday being his next chance to enter the lineup. Blake Perkins will replace Yelich in the lineup and is batting ninth for Saturday's contest. Perkins has been red hot recently, slashing .389/.476/.556 with a home run, four RBI, and six runs over five games. The 27-year-old can be a streamer in Saturday's slate against Orioles right-hander Dean Kramer while swinging a hot bat.

Fri Apr 1219:59Christian Yelich Exits Friday’s Game With Lower Back Discomfort
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) was pulled from Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles in the second inning. He left Friday's game with lower back discomfort. He went 1-for-1 with a single before being replaced in the bottom of the second inning. The 32-year-old has dealt with back issues in the past, and it's unclear how severe the latest injury is for Yelich. He is considered day-to-day. Yelich has been swinging a hot bat during the young season, hitting .316/.409/.737 with five home runs and two swiped bags. If Yelich were to miss time, Blake Perkins could be a candidate to handle left field.

Thu Apr 1111:20Christian Yelich Belts Fifth Home Run Wednesday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich hit his fifth home run of the season on Wednesday in a 7-2 win over the Reds. Yelich got his first start at designated hitter this season in the game, and the home run was his only hit of the day, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, and a walk. Yelich is coming off probably his best statistical season since 2019, and looking to follow that up with another strong showing in 2024. His five home runs are one off of the league lead while hitting .316 with 11 RBI, seven runs scored, and two stolen bases. Expect the former MVP and 2x All-Star to continue to produce across multiple categories and provide fantasy managers a safe floor throughout the season.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich continued his stellar offensive start in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Reds. Yelich went 2-for-4 with a single, a double, three RBI, and a walk. The 32-year-old has done it all at the plate so far this season, slashing .324/.410/.706 with four home runs, six runs scored, nine RBI, and two stolen bases in 40 plate appearances. Yelich had a nice 2023 season after several disappointing ones, so seeing him pick up where he left off is encouraging.

Sun Apr 712:19Christian Yelich Getting A Day Off
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is not in the starting lineup on Sunday as the team faces the Seattle Mariners in the series finale. It will be the first day of rest for Yelich after he started the first seven games of the season. The 32-year-old veteran left-handed hitter is off to a great start offensively for the Brewers in 2024, going 8-for-26 (.308) with three home runs, four RBI, two stolen bases and five runs scored in his first 30 plate appearances. Make sure to take him out of your lineups on Sunday, though. Sal Frelick is shifting to left field and will hit leadoff, while Blake Perkins draws in at center field and will bat in the nine-hole against Mariners right-hander Emerson Hancock. Neither Frelick nor Perkins have faced Hancock in their major-league careers.

Fri Mar 2209:13Christian Yelich Enjoying Cactus League
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich has been having a nice spring with two homers, five RBI and a .333 batting average in 24 Cactus League at-bats. Yelich, 32, bounced back in 2023 after some rough campaigns in 2022 and 2023 and finished with a .278 batting average that was accompanied by 19 homers, 76 RBI and 28 stolen bases. Yelich looked to be on the decline, but last year proved he still has enough juice in his bat to be productive. Despite not being the MVP-caliber player that he was in years past, Yelich should still be a useful piece for managers filling out their outfields ahead of Opening Day.

Wed Feb 2800:59Christian Yelich Takes Live Batting Practice Tuesday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich faced teammates DL Hall and Devin Williams in live batting practice Tuesday but has yet to debut in a Cactus League game. The good news is that the 32-year-old is gearing up for the regular season and has gotten at least 600 plate appearances in each of the last two seasons. Yelich had a solid 2023, slashing .278/.370/.447 with 19 home runs, 106 runs scored, 76 RBI, and 28 stolen bases. The Brewers lineup may not be as strong as it has been, but Yelich should still provide all-around fantasy value hitting at the top of the lineup.

Sat Sep 30 202318:16Christian Yelich Out Of The Lineup On Saturday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. This appears to be a routine rest day for the veteran outfielder. The Brewers continue to monitor Yelich down the stretch as they want to keep him fresh for the postseason. The expectation is that he'll return for Sunday's series finale. In the meantime, Tyrone Taylor will cover right field and bat sixth versus left-hander Jordan Wicks on Saturday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly with Yelich on the bench.

Thu Sep 28 202314:17Christian Yelich Re-Enters Starting Lineup Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is back in the starting lineup Thursday afternoon versus the St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Dakota Hudson. Yelich did not appear in Wednesday's narrow 3-2 win over the Cardinals but will return to his familiar leadoff spot while manning left field on Thursday. The 31-year-old is enjoying his best season since his NL MVP runner-up season in 2019 here in 2023, hitting .275 with 19 home runs, 27 stolen bases, and an .810 OPS across 141 appearances on the campaign. His matchup on Thursday is a solid one as he has hit .291 with an .874 OPS versus right-handed pitching while Hudson has allowed a .299 average and an .817 OPS to left-handed hitters this season.

Fri Sep 22 202316:00Christian Yelich Back In Brewers Lineup
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) has returned to the starting lineup on Friday against the Miami Marlins and right-hander JT Chargois. He is hitting leadoff and starting in left field. Yelich has barely played in the last two weeks due to a lingering back injury, but he's going to give it a go to start the weekend and hopefully he won't suffer any setbacks in the final stretch of the regular season before the playoffs. The 31-year-old left-handed hitter has had a nice bounce-back season in 2023, but he's also gone just 7-for-49 (.143) with a home run, one double, three RBI, 22 strikeouts and 10 runs scored in 14 games (13 starts) since Aug. 25. Fantasy managers that are plugging him back into their starting lineups will hope that his back injury is behind him and he can pick things up offensively.

Thu Sep 21 202312:28Christian Yelich On The Bench Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) continues to sit out on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Yelich has played for the Brewers just one time since Sept. 8 due to lingering back issues, and it's a surprise at this point that he hasn't been placed on the injured list. Mark Canha will get the nod in left field in this one and will hit third in the order against Cardinals right-hander Miles Mikolas. With just 10 games remaining in the 2023 regular season, fantasy managers may not see Yelich play another game as the Brew Crew looks to get him rested up for a potential lengthy playoff run. Yelich has had a nice bounce-back season for fantasy managers, but it's a shame that it appears to be ending on a low note.

Wed Sep 20 202316:31Christian Yelich On The Bench Again
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the team's starting lineup on Wednesday with the club facing the Cardinals in St. Louis. Tyrone Taylor is in left field and hitting sixth, Blake Perkins is in center and batting ninth, and Sal Frelick is in right field and in the seven-hole against Cardinals left-hander Zack Thompson. It's kind of a surprise that the Brewers have yet to put Yelich on the 10-day injured list at this point, as he's played in just one of the last 12 games due to lingering back issues. Milwaukee isn't going to rush him back, either, as they're going to need his bat clicking on all cylinders if they hope to make a deep postseason run. The 31-year-old veteran has had a fine 2023 season, but he has struggled down the stretch offensively, likely because of his injury.

Tue Sep 19 202316:33Christian Yelich Missing Another Game
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is out of the starting lineup yet again on Tuesday with the team taking on the St. Louis Cardinals. Manager Craig Counsell hasn't ruled out the team placing Yelich on the injured list at this point. He's only played in one of the team's last 11 games due to a lingering back issue, and the Brewers surely would like to get him healthy for the postseason in October. Tyrone Taylor is in left field and batting sixth, Blake Perkins is in center and hitting ninth, and Sal Frelick is in right and in the seven-hole on Tuesday against Cardinals left-hander Drew Rom. Fantasy managers battling for a title may have to confront the reality that they might not have Yelich in their lineups for the rest of the season.

Tue Sep 19 202301:09Christian Yelich Could Land On Injured List
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) did some more pregame activities on Monday, but the Brewers will likely have to make a decision on whether to place him on the injured list on Tuesday, according to manager Craig Counsell. Yelich has only played in one of the team's last 10 games due to a lingering back ailment, and the Brewers may want to play it safe with the 31-year-old left-handed hitter in order to get him healthy for the postseason. In addition to his injury, he's gone 7-for-49 (.143) with a home run, one double, three RBI, 22 strikeouts and 10 runs scored in 14 games (13 starts) since Aug. 25. Yelich has had a resurgent season overall, though, and the Brew Crew is going to need him healthy and productive in order to make a deep postseason run.

Sat Sep 16 202318:46Christian Yelich Remains Out On Saturday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) is not in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Washington Nationals. The veteran outfielder missed six consecutive games dating back to last week before playing in Friday's game. He ended up leaving that contest early and is now sitting out on Saturday. It doesn't appear that Yelich had a setback but the Brewers are going to be cautious with him down the stretch. Tyrone Taylor is starting in right field and batting ninth against starting pitcher Trevor Williams in Yelich's place. Fantasy managers should keep tabs on the Brewers' Sunday lineup to see if the veteran outfielder is back out there.

Fri Sep 15 202317:08Christian Yelich Returns Against Nationals
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) has returned to the starting lineup on Friday against the visiting Washington Nationals and right-hander Jake Irvin, starting in left field and batting leadoff for the Brew Crew. Yelich will return to the field for the first time in a week after dealing with some back issues. The 31-year-old left-handed slugger has had a solid year for fantasy managers in 2023, but keep in mind that he's gone just 7-for-46 (.152) with a home run, one double, three RBI, 20 strikeouts and nine runs scored in 13 games (12 starts) since Aug. 25. The Brewers will need his bat down the stretch and into the postseason, and fantasy managers are hoping he can finish off the year on a good note as well.

Thu Sep 14 202319:16Christian Yelich Expected Back On Friday
Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Christian Yelich (back) is expected to return to the lineup for Game 1 of a three-game weekend set on Friday versus the Washington Nationals. The 31-year-old will have missed a week of play with back stiffness as of Friday, but he finally appears to be on the cusp of a return to help bolster fantasy playoff rosters. Yelich has put forth a wonderful revival overall in 2023, but he's limping a bit since Aug. 30 with a .138 batting average, one extra-base hit, and two RBI across his latest 29 at-bats. Fantasy gamers should check back ahead of Friday's series opener for an official word on the former NL MVP's standing.
