LHP Mike Montgomery is scheduled to make his second start of the season when Seattle hosts Houston in Sunday's series finale. The Mariners are hoping it goes as well as his first start, a 6 1/3-inning, five-hit, one-run performance in a win over Kansas City. The former starter came out of Seattle's bullpen to help shore up a hobbled rotation, and it's likely he'll return to his relief role after Sunday's start -- as ace Felix Hernandez is expected back in the rotation next week.

LHP Mike Montgomery turned in another impressive performance out of the bullpen, throwing two scoreless innings Saturday night.

Montgomery is healthy, but was not invited to spring training by the Yankees, the Westchester Journal News reports.

His future may be with another organization at this point, but Montgomery will have to pitch well at the Triple-A level in order to get back on the big league radar regardless of where he's pitching to begin 2015. The lack of a spring training invite is the result of the Yankees' recently improved bullpen depth.
