Michael (ankle) is hitting .248/.358/.440 at Double-A Chattanooga.

He missed several weeks after spraining an ankle in May, but is back to full strength. He struggled in July with a .658 OPS. After two disappointing seasons, he really needs a strong second half to stay relevant in the Twins organization.

Michael was carted off the field after suffering a sprained ankle Tuesday while playing for Double-A Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Chattanoogan reports.

Michael was off to a decent start at Double-A with a .862 OPS and two home runs. At 24, the 2011 first-round pick has been a disappointment during his career with a minor league career .697 OPS. It sounds like this is an injury that will cause him to miss multiple weeks.

Michael was promoted to Double-A New Britain, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Michael will play mostly second base at New Britain. He was hitting .305/.353/.395 at High-A. Coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons, Michael may finally putting all together, but the 2011 first-round draft pick needs to prove he can hold his own at higher levels as he was old (age 23) for High-A.

Michael is 4-for-24 in six games since returning from a foot injury.

Michael is hitting .310/.379/.401 at High-A Fort Myers in 36 games overall. He was out from May 8 to July 24 with the injury. Coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons, Michael has hit well in a small sample size, but like needs to show much more to keep advancing.

This is his third consecutive season playing for the Fort Myers Miracle, so his .301/.343/.387 line is a step in the right direction. He previously split time between second base and shortstop, but he has exclusively played second base in 2014, with Jorge Polanco playing shortstop.
