WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Nationals have put catcher Miguel Montero on the paternity list and designated left-handed reliever Enny Romero for assignment.Montero has been starting while Matt Wieters is on the disabled list. So third-stringer Pedro Severino moved into the lineup against the New York Mets on Saturday, while Jhonatan Solano's contract was selected from Triple-A Syracuse so he can serve as the backup catcher.In another move, the Nationals recalled utility player Matt Reynolds from Syracuse, giving them an additional player on the bench.Romero appeared in two games this season for the Nationals, allowing three runs over two innings for a 13.50 ERA. RHP Enny Romero returns to the Nationals' bullpen for the stretch run after he was activated from the 10-day disabled list Friday. Romero posted a 3.99 ERA in 45 games while striking out 10.8 batters per nine innings since May 24 but has been out since Aug. 4 with a strained left forearm.

Romero was recalled by the Rays on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Romero was optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday, but he'll rejoin the bullpen Thursday. The 24-year-old should serve in middle relief and low-leverage situations for the Rays.
