1B Andy Wilkins was 1-for-2 with an infield single when he started against fellow Broken Arroa (Okla.) high school alum Arizona RHP Archie Bradley. Wilkins was the White Sox's fifth-round draft choice in 2010, three years before Bradley was one of two first-round picks by Arizona. "He's got bragging rights," Bradley said.

1B Andy Wilkins was called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday at RHP Zach Davies was sent to Triple-A. That gives the Brewers an extra bench player since Davies wasn't going to start before the All-Star break anyway. "It is good to be back," said Wilkins, who last played in the majors in 2014 with the Chicago White Sox. Wilkins was the only left hitter on the bench Wednesday and he reached on an error in the ninth off closer Jonathan Papelbon. Does it help that Wilkins bats left? "That was certainly a factor," said Craig Counsell, the Brewers manager. "He has extra-base power for sure." Wilkins made 74 starts at Triple-A and hit two grand slams with an average of .238 with 11 homers and 50 RBIs.

Wilkins was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Sunday.

Wilkins had swatted 18 homers and drove in 70 runs for the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate at Oklahoma City this season, but was hitting a paltry .249. He'll be an organizational depth option for the Orioles and isn't expected to see frequent at-bats if the team eventually makes him a September call-up.

Wilkins was designated for assignment Thursday, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.

Wilkins didn't make a single appearance with the Dodgers this season, but did put together a .249/.314/.747 slash line at Triple-A this season. He was DFA'd to clear room on the 40-man roster for Corey Seager.

Wilkins is batting .263/.321/.515 with 15 homers in 262 at-bats for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Surprisingly Wilkins is still on the 40-man roster despite his age (26) and .140 BA in 43 big league at-bats last year. He's a September call-up at best.

Wilkins was traded from the Blue Jays to the Dodgers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.

DFA'd by the Blue Jays on Saturday, Wilkins now figures to join the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City. The 26-year-old first baseman was off to a mediocre start at Triple-A Buffalo this season, but he did hit 30 home runs for Triple-A Charlotte in 2014, with a .293/.338/.558 slash line. Despite his plus power and decent plate discipline, Wilkins doesn't project as anything more than a platoon guy or pinch-hitter.

Wilkins has been dsignated for assignment by Toronto, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Wilkins has been okay in Triple-A, batting a .264/.353/.319 line, but that .053 isolated power couldn't have helped his case at being a viable major league first baseman.

Wilkins was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Sunday, play-by-play announcer Mike Wilner reports.

Wilkins was basically swapped for Kyle Drabek, as the White Sox placed him on waivers to add Drabek to the 40-man roster. He doesn't appear to be a candidate to make the Blue Jays' roster out of camp, and will likely begin the season in Triple-A.

Wilkins was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, the Chicago Sun-Times' Daryl Van Schouwen reports.

It's no surprise that the White Sox sent Wilkins down with Jose Abreu and Adam LaRoche already on the roster. He will probably be the first player to get a call if an injury befalls one of Chicago's first basemen, but for now he will just offer organizational depth.

Wilkins played through all of 2014 with a broken bone in his right foot and plantar fasciitis in his left foot, the Daily Herald reports.

Wilkins thought he just had turf toe for much of the year, so he had avoided seeking medical attention for his foot. The injuries did not appear to affect his performance too greatly, as he hit 30 home runs at Triple-A Charlotte. Wilkins struggled in a 17-game September audition with the big league club, but it is not clear how much of that was due to the foot or just due to the large jump between Charlotte and the majors. In any case, offseason surgery corrected the problems in his right foot, and he should serve as the third first baseman on the organizational depth chart while playing everyday at Triple-A.

Wilkins' contract was purchased from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports. He'll man first base and bat seventh in the order for the White Sox on Sunday.

After Adam Dunn was dealt to the Athletics on Sunday, the White Sox have a vacancy at the DH and first base spot, with Wilkins likely to have the first crack at filling the void. Though not a highly-regarded prospect, Wilkins, 25, captured the attention of the White Sox by cracking 30 homers and driving in 85 runs at Charlotte. His numbers will undoubtedly plummet upon facing major-league pitching, but the power potential he's shown does at least make him of interest in deeper formats while he appears poised to receive regular at-bats.
