Sat Sep 23 202318:24Tyler Anderson Done For The Season
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Tyler Anderson (knee) has been placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday. The left-hander originally had his start pushed back and was supposed to start on Sunday. That won't happen as Anderson will be shut down for the rest of the season. He'll finish the season with a 5.43 ERA, 1.49 WHIP through 141 innings with the Angels. It's uncertain who the Angels will pitch on Sunday with Anderson out for the rest of 2023.

Thu Sep 21 202312:23Tyler Anderson Being Pushed Back To Sunday
Los Angeles Angels left-hander Tyler Anderson (knee) is having his start pushed back to Sunday against the Minnesota Twins on the road because of some knee discomfort. Davis Daniels will be recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to pitch for the Angels on Friday, and they may use an opener in front of him. Left-hander Kenny Rosenberg will take the mound in Minnesota on Saturday. It's not a serious injury for Anderson, but it's something that will make him even more risky as a deep-league streamer for fantasy purposes. The 33-year-old southpaw was good for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022, but he hasn't been nearly as good with the Halos this year, posting a 5.43 ERA in his 27 outings (25 starts).

Sun Sep 3 202311:02Tyler Anderson Aims To Gain Traction Against Oakland
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Tyler Anderson climbs the hill for Sunday's start against the Oakland Athletics. The 34-year-old's 2022 All-Star campaign with the crosstown-rival Los Angeles Dodgers appears to have been a mirage at this point, limping to a dismal 5.58 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with 103 strikeouts in 122 2/3 innings in Anaheim this year. Anderson has a shot to improve on those shaky figures in a prime spot versus Oakland, who he displays a splendid 0.79 ERA with 17 punchouts in 22 2/3 career frames against dating back to 2020. The crafty lefty doesn't miss a ton of bats, but season-long fantasy managers could probably find worse than Anderson in as good a matchup he'll see this season.

Tue Mar 28 202300:31Tyler Anderson Wraps Up Strong Spring Monday
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Tyler Anderson had a decent final spring start in Monday's 5-4 Cactus League win over the Dodgers. Anderson pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits (including two home runs) and a walk with five strikeouts. The outing brought Anderson to a 1.35 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 13 1/3 IP in three outings. The 33-year-old had a career season in 2022 with the Dodgers, going 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 19.5% strikeout rate in 178 2/3 IP. Despite this and his encouraging spring numbers, Anderson's current draft position is at about 270, so he is definitely worth a look at the end of fantasy drafts.

Tue Nov 15 202216:20Tyler Anderson Agrees With Angels
The Los Angeles Angels agreed with free-agent starting pitcher Tyler Anderson on a three-year, $40 million deal on Tuesday. Anderson will stay in town after spending 2022 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he had a career year. The 32-year-old veteran left-hander was an All-Star for the first time in his seven-year career while going 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA (3.31 FIP), a 1.00 WHIP, 138 strikeouts and only 34 walks in 178 2/3 innings over 30 appearances (28 starts). Anderson turned down the $19.65 million qualifying offer from the Dodgers in order to test the open market after his strong season. He'll be a much-needed rotation addition for the Halos, but it remains to be seen if he can duplicate his strong 2022 campaign.

Wed Nov 9 202220:47Dodgers Likely To Give Qualifying Offer To Tyler Anderson
There's a good chance that the Los Angeles Dodgers will extend the $19.65 million qualifying offer to All-Star left-hander Tyler Anderson, according to sources. Not many people expected Anderson, 32, to have a breakout season in 2022, but he did. The veteran southpaw went 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA (3.31 FIP), a 1.00 WHIP, 138 strikeouts and 34 walks in 178 2/3 innings over 30 outings (28 starts). Entering the year, Anderson had a career 4.26 ERA. He was able to induce a ton of weak contact, which might have had to do with the fact that he threw his changeup 31.6 percent of the team compared to just 24.6 percent the previous season. If Anderson turns down the offer and signs elsewhere, the Dodgers would receive draft-pick compensation.

Thu Oct 13 202218:11Tyler Anderson Gets The Ball For Game 4 Of NLDS
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Tyler Anderson will start in Game 4 of the National League Division Series on Saturday against the division-rival San Diego Padres. The Dodgers went with left-handers in the first two games of the series but will break that up with righty Tony Gonsolin in Game 3 on Friday. Anderson had a career year in 2022, going 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA (3.31 FIP), a 1.00 WHIP and a 138:34 K:BB in 178 2/3 innings over 30 outings (28 starts) for the Dodgers. The 32-year-old veteran southpaw was money in four starts against the Padres, too, going 2-0 by allowing only five earned runs on 15 hits while walking six and striking out 16 in 24 innings pitched.

Wed Sep 21 202211:48Tyler Anderson Loses To Diamondbacks Tuesday
Despite posting a quality start, Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Tyler Anderson picked up his fourth loss of the season in a 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 2 of a doubleheader on Tuesday. Anderson allowed three runs (none earned) on just two hits while walking two and striking out six in six innings of work in his return from the paternity list. Despite the loss, the 32-year-old veteran southpaw has now posted four straight quality starts, and he remains a must-start in his All-Star campaign. He's now 15-4 with a 2.52 ERA (3.40 FIP), a 1.01 WHIP, 125 strikeouts and 34 walks over 167 2/3 innings and 28 appearances (26 starts).

Tue Sep 20 202216:27Tyler Anderson Starting Game 2 On Tuesday
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Tyler Anderson will be activated from the paternity list on Tuesday and will start in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Anderson is very attractive in fantasy as part of what will be a two-start week against Arizona and the St. Louis Cardinals. The 32-year-old veteran southpaw has been a must-start in fantasy in 2022, going 15-3 with a 2.62 ERA (3.41 FIP), a 1.03 WHIP and a 119:32 K:BB in 161 2/3 innings over his 27 appearances (25 starts) for the Blue. The first-time All-Star needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups for Game 2 against the D-backs.

Fri Jul 29 202200:44Tyler Anderson Spins Seven Scoreless Innings Thursday
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Anderson spun seven scoreless frames on Thursday as his club routed the Rockies 13-0. He gave up just four hits on the night while striking out four and walking no one, tossing 94 pitches in the victory to improve his record to 11-1. The Dodgers were up 6-0 after two innings and 11-0 after four, so the left-hander was able top put it into cruise control in this one, and he sits with a terrific 2.61 ERA and 0.99 WHIP on the year. 2022 has been a remarkable turnaround for the 32-year-old in his first year in LA as he sets his sights on his upcoming matchup with the Giants next week.

Sat Jul 23 202211:23Tyler Anderson Records Another Quality Start On Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Anderson continued his outstanding campaign in his first start out of the break Friday, allowing just one unearned run on four hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six batters in the no-decision. With this performance, Anderson lowered his season ERA to 2.79. He has a 10-1 record with a 1.02 WHIP and 87 strikeouts in 103 1/3 innings this season. Although he isn't the flashiest option out there, Anderson has been well worth the add for the fantasy managers who were willing to take a chance earlier in the season. He should be out there in every start at this point.

Fri Jul 15 202201:08Tyler Anderson Twirls Another Gem
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Anderson threw another excellent game Thursday, giving up just three hits and two walks in six scoreless innings to earn his 10th win of the season over the St. Louis Cardinals. Anderson has just one loss on the season. With a 2.96 ERA and 1.02 WHIP, Anderson has been a major fantasy value despite only striking out 81 batters in 97 1/3 innings. On a very strong Dodgers team, the opportunities for wins will continue to pile up in the second half of the campaign, and fantasy managers should keep him in lineups.

Wed May 25 202201:59Tyler Anderson Pitches Eight Strong Innings
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Tyler Anderson almost tossed a shutout for the first time in his career on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals. However, reliever Phil Bickford came out instead in the ninth inning. Anderson's excellent command is one of the main factors for his success. He has only allowed five walks in 43 2/3 innings. He has notched five wins in eight games (six starts) with the support of the best offensive team in the league. He should be added in most formats if he hasn't been already.
Wed Apr 20 202218:42Tyler Anderson To Start For Dodgers On Saturday
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Anderson will be the team's starting pitcher for Saturday's game against the San Diego Padres. He will be filling the rotation spot of Andrew Heaney (shoulder), who landed on the injured list due to shoulder discomfort on Wednesday. Anderson has made two appearances so far this year. On both occasions, he was working in long relief behind starter Tony Gonsolin. He's pitched a total of eight innings and he's allowed four hits, no walks and two earned runs while striking out eight.

Fri Mar 18 202222:30Tyler Anderson Agrees With Dodgers
Free-agent pitcher Tyler Anderson agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, according to a source familiar with the situation. FanSided's Robert Murray later reported that the deal was for one year and $8 million. The 32-year-old left-hander spent the 2021 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Seattle Mariners, posting a 4.53 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 134:38 K:BB in 31 starts covering 167 innings. Anderson doesn't strike out many batters (career 7.8 K/9), but he makes up for it with great command and ground-ball tendencies. The southpaw could factor into a back-end starting rotation spot if Trevor Bauer stays on administrative leave into the regular season, but there isn't much fantasy upside in Anderson's profile, even while pitching for the Dodgers.

Mon Oct 4 202113:14Tyler Anderson Takes Loss In Finale
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson could not get it done in the biggest of spots Sunday, taking the loss in the season's final game. He allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks in 1 2/3 innings and did not strike out a batter. Anderson finishes the season with a 7-11 record, a 4.53 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and 134 strikeouts in 167 innings. He now enters free agency, and while his landing spot may ultimately affect his fantasy value, he will not be a priority come draft day.

Wed Sep 29 202110:51Tyler Anderson Strong On Short Rest
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson returned on short rest to make Tuesday's start against the Oakland Athletics, and he came through with four strong innings, allowing one run on two hits. He struck out two and did not walk a batter. Despite not qualifying for a win, it's a strong bounce-back outing for Anderson after allowing nine runs in his previous start. He now has a 4.41 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 134 strikeouts in 165 1/3 innings this season. Fantasy managers may get one more start from Anderson this year.

Tue Sep 28 202108:28Tyler Anderson To Start On Short Rest Tuesday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson has been named the starter for Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Mariners manager Scott Servais made the announcement after Monday's game. Yusei Kikuchi was originally slated to start the game and it isn't clear at this point if his turn is being skipped or if he's being pushed back. Anderson will be starting on short rest. He pitched on Saturday, but only threw 54 pitches as he got absolutely hammered by the Los Angeles Angels, giving up nine runs over two innings. He had been pitching well before that outing, but he shouldn't be trusted by fantasy managers on short rest and while coming off such a dud.

Sun Sep 26 202100:55Tyler Anderson Thrashed Saturday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson had his worst outing of the season Saturday, and it could not have come at a worse time for the team. Anderson allowed nine runs on nine hits and one walk in two innings against the Los Angeles Angels, failing to strike out a single batter. The loss dropped his record to 7-10, and his ERA ballooned to 4.46. Anderson is normally a safe fantasy option, but he lacks the upside to be a difference-maker. He should be left on the sidelines in all but the most desperate of situations.

Tue Sep 21 202111:13Tyler Anderson Shuts Down A's
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson shut down the Oakland Athletics for seven innings Monday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts to earn his seventh win of the season. Anderson has started seven games since being traded to Seattle, recording a 3.38 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and 46 strikeouts in 56 innings. He's allowed more than three earned runs on just one occasion, making him a solid floor play in deep leagues.
