Mon Apr 24 202314:24Jason Vosler Designated For Assignment
The Cincinnati Reds designated infielder Jason Vosler for assignment on Monday and selected the contract of outfielder Henry Ramos from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Vosler was an early season bright spot for the Reds out of the gates, but he struck out way too often and fell back to Earth hard in recent weeks, causing the Reds to cut him. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter is currently batting .161 (10-for-62) with two doubles, a triple, three home runs, 10 RBI and 25 strikeouts in 65 plate appearances over 20 games. The move to DFS Vosler likely means that we'll see Wil Myers more at first base, at least until Joey Votto (biceps, shoulder) is cleared to make his season debut.

Sun Apr 9 202310:59Jason Vosler Back In Lineup Sunday
Cincinnati Reds infielder Jason Vosler is back in the team's starting lineup on Sunday in the series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies. He's starting at first base and is batting sixth against Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker. Vosler was on the bench against left-hander Bailey Falter on Saturday, but he's back in there on Sunday. Wil Myer is in right field and is hitting fifth. Vosler already has three home runs on the young season and has driven in seven runs while going 5-for-20 (.250) with four runs scored, a walk and eight strikeouts in his first seven games of 2023. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter will be a cheap DFS play for some power on Sunday.

Wed Feb 1 202317:59Reds Sign Jason Vosler To Minor-League Deal
The Cincinnati Reds signed infielder/outfielder Jason Vosler to a minor-league deal on Wednesday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Vosler signed with the Seattle Mariners late last month but was granted his release last weekend in order to join the Reds. The 29-year-old played in 36 games for the San Francisco Giants in his second MLB season last year, going 26-for-98 (.265) with four home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base in 111 plate appearances. Vosler has little major-league experience, but he stands a much better chance of making and sticking on Cincinnati's big-league roster in 2023 than he did in Seattle.

Tue Jan 31 202316:07Mariners Release Jason Vosler
The Seattle Mariners released third baseman Jason Vosler over the weekend. The 29-year-old infielder only spent 10 days with the organization, but he may have other opportunities. Vosler played in 36 games for the Giants in 2022 and hit .265/.342/.469 with an .812 OPS, four home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base in 111 plate appearances. In two MLB seasons (both with San Francisco), he's slashed .228/.306/.421 with a .727 OPS, seven long balls, 21 RBI, 26 runs scored and three stolen bases in just 77 games played. Wherever Vosler lands, he'll be well off the fantasy radar for the 2023 season.

Tue Jun 7 202211:48Jason Vosler Optioned To Minors
The San Francisco Giants optioned third baseman Jason Vosler to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday. Vosler's demotion likely means that Darin Ruf will return from the bereavement list ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Colorado Rockies. Vosler has been good for the Giants in 17 games this year, so we'd expect him to return at some point this year when the Giants need more infield help. The 28-year-old went 15-for-51 (.294) with four home runs, eight RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base. Before his call-up, he was hitting .206/.284/.329 with two home runs and seven RBI in 20 games with Sacramento.
