The Rangers released Kickham, according to Anthony Andro from Fox Sports Southwest.

The Rangers kicked the tires with Kickham after the Mariners designated him for assignment, but his stats kicked right back, with a 6.00 ERA in seven relief appearances for Triple-A Round Rock.

Kickham was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, the Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports.

The lefty cleared waivers and will continue to offer organizational bullpen depth for Texas. This move will give the Rangers a chance to add infielder Ed Lucas to the 40-man if they choose to send Rougned Odor to the minors to get his confidence back.

Kickham, who was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Monday, has been claimed off waivers by the Rangers, John Blake of Rangers.com reports.

Kickham was decent in the upper levels of the minors from 2012 to 2014, but he posted a 7.29 ERA and ridiculous K:BB ratio (12:28) over 21 innings with Triple-A Tacoma this season. Even if he figures out how to throw strikes again, he probably won't have a future as big-league starter. The Rangers may plan on converting the lefty to a full-time reliever.

Kickham was designated for assignment Monday.

Kickham was with Triple-A Tacoma, but struggled so far as he's posted a 7.29 ERA through five starts. The move clears up space on the 40-man roster for Joe Beimel, who's contract was selected in a corresponding move Monday.

Kickham was traded to Seattle on Wednesday in exchange for pitcher Lars Huijer, MLB.com's Carrie Muskat reports.

Given that he was just designated for assignment and Huijer carries an extremely modest profile, this trade looks to be a low-impact transaction with minimal significance for both sides.

Kickham has been designated for assignment to make room for Chris Denorfia, the Cubs announced.

It's not exactly a surprise the Cubs would demote a pitcher with a 10.98 career ERA, and Kickham wasn't strong in the minors before his debut either. The Cubs just recently picked up the 26-year-old, so they likely still see at least some value in Kickham they can develop him in their system.

Kickham spent the bulk of last season at Triple-A with the Giants organization, going 8-8 with a 4.43 ERA in 27 starts. He appeared in two games for the Giants but struggled mightily, allowing five earned runs and eight hits over just 2.0 total innings.

Kickham will be called up from Triple-A Fresno on Monday, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Kickham appeared in 12 games for the Giants last season but didn't experience much success, sporting a 10.16 ERA with 32 earned runs in 28.1 innings. He's had a solid year at Triple-A in 2014, going 8-9 with a 4.43 ERA across 148.1 innings.

Kickham was just sent down to Triple-A Fresno on Thursday, but with the injury to Matt Cain, the club wanted more coverage in the bullpen. The 24-year-old lefty has posted a 10.72 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 24/9 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings with the Giants.

The Giants kept Kickham around as a reliever for a week and got a three-inning stint out of him, but he'll now rejoin Fresno's rotation. Chad Gaudin rejoined the rotation Sunday.

It's a surprise that he's not in the minors after he was knocked around again during Monday's start, but the Giants have decided to keep Kickham around as a long reliever. Chad Gaudin will rejoin the rotation on Saturday.

Mike Kickham was a bust one more time on Monday, giving up seven runs and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings Monday against the Reds.

It was pretty hard to believe the Giants gave him another chance after he posted a 10.57 ERA in his first two starts. He did manage a flawless first tonight, but managed just five outs after that, one of those on coming on a sac bunt. Barring an even more stunning decision to keep him in the rotation, he'll take an 0-3 record and a 13.94 ERA back to Triple-A.

Mike Kickham will make his next start on Monday in Cincinnati.

Kickham struggled again in his second start for the Giants Tuesday, but they'll give the young left-hander another shot. It's expected to be his last start before Chad Gaudin returns from the DL. Kickham should be avoided for fantasy purposes.
