Sun Mar 2412:29Eddie Rosario Breaks Camp With Nationals
After reassigning outfielder Eddie Rosario to minor-league camp on Saturday in a procedural move, the Washington Nationals selected both he and outfielder Jesse Winker to the major-league roster on Sunday. Given the lack of experienced options in the outfield for the rebuilding Nationals in 2024, Rosario was signed earlier this month to give the team a stable left-field presence. He could get off to a slow start this year after going just 3-for-18 in his seven Grapefruit League games, but don't ignore the power-hitting left-hander in NL-only leagues just because in D.C. The 32-year-old veteran Puerto Rican slugger might not be much to look at against left-handers, but he did manage 21 home runs and 74 RBI in 142 games played last year for the Atlanta Braves.

Sat Mar 2312:22Eddie Rosario Sent To Triple-A
Washington Nationals outfielder Eddie Rosario has been reassigned to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, but it's a procedural move. The Nationals have until noon on Sunday to add Rosario to their 40-man roster. The move doesn't mean Rosario still can't make the Opening Day roster out of camp. If the 32-year-old left-handed-hitting veteran makes the team, he'll make $4 million in the majors, plus incentives. After signing with Washington on March 6, Rosario has hit just .167 with three RBI and four walks in 18 Grapefruit League at-bats. Still, given the nature of the Nationals' rebuilding roster, Rosario could make the big-league roster and at least serve in a platoon role against right-handed pitching in their outfield in 2024. That would make him fantasy relevant in NL-only leagues for his pop.

Wed Mar 612:30Nationals Agree With Eddie Rosario On Split Contract
The Washington Nationals agreed with free-agent outfielder Eddie Rosario on a split contract on Wednesday. The deal could earn Rosario up to $4 million in 2024 with incentives. The deal is pending a physical, according to sources. The 32-year-old veteran outfielder has a good shot of cracking Washington's major-league roster in the midst of their rebuild, and he could be on the strong side of a platoon in the outfield or at designated hitter while facing right-handed pitching. His signing is bad news for both the left-handed-hitting Jesse Winker and right-handed-hitting Stone Garrett, who is coming of a serious leg injury in 2023. Rosario played in 142 games with Atlanta last year and hit .255/.305/.450 with 21 homers and 74 RBI in 516 plate appearances. He'll be an option for outfield depth for his power in deep-mixed and NL-only leagues if he's playing regularly in D.C.

Sun Nov 5 202320:04Braves Expected To Decline Option On Eddie Rosario
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario is likely going to be a free agent this week. The organization is reportedly leaning towards declining Rosario's $9 million club option for the 2024 season. The team hasn't officially declined it yet, but are expected to do so ahead of Monday's deadline. The 32-year-old was a key piece to the Braves title run in 2021, but hasn't been the same at the plate. He's still effective with 21 home runs and 74 RBI this past season, so he should be able to find a spot on a contending roster.

Thu Oct 12 202316:39Eddie Rosario Taking A Seat Versus Lefty In Game 4 Thursday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario will be on the bench to begin Thursday's Game 4 of the NLDS versus the Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Ranger Suarez. As has been the case all season long, Rosario will yield left-field duties to the righty-swinging Kevin Pillar against a southpaw starter but it's likely he will enter the game in Pillar's place when his spot comes up against a right-handed reliever. It was a solid season at the plate for the former Twins outfielder who hit .255 with 21 home runs and a .755 OPS across 142 appearances, production that graded out as exactly league average, judging from his 100 wRC+. The 32-year-old has one hit and three strikeouts in six postseason at-bats this fall.

Wed Jul 19 202315:56Eddie Rosario Returning To The Starting Lineup Wednesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario is back in the starting lineup Wednesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Ryne Nelson. Rosario has been out since July 15 due to a hamstring issue but gets back into the lineup looking to bounce back from a tough month of July to this point. The veteran is hitting just .156 with a .541 OPS across 35 plate appearances this month after he broke out with a .325 average and nine home runs across just 23 games in the month of June. He will take his usual spot in left field and hit in the seven-hole Wednesday night in Atlanta.

Tue Jul 18 202316:32Eddie Rosario Remains On The Bench
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (hamstring) continues to sit out on Tuesday as the team takes on the Arizona Diamondbacks. Rosario is currently dealing with right-hamstring tightness and hasn't played since Saturday. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. With Rosario still out, Sam Hilliard will get the start in left field and will be in the nine-hole against Diamondbacks right-hander Zach Davies. The 31-year-old Rosario is a decent power bat when the Braves are facing right-handed pitching. He's hit .255 (71-for-278) this year with 15 long balls, 44 RBI and 39 runs scored. He's had only 33 at-bats against southpaws and is surprisingly hitting .364 (12 hits) against them, but only with three of his 15 homers.

Sat Jul 15 202321:14Eddie Rosario Exits Early With Hamstring Tightness
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (hamstring) was removed from Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox with right hamstring tightness. He tweaked his hamstring while tracking down a double during the fifth inning. The 31-year-old was replaced by Kevin Pillar in the sixth inning. Rosario went 1-for-2 with a solo home run before exiting. He is considered day-to-day, and the Braves should have an update after the game. Pillar would see an uptick in playing time if Rosario were to miss additional games. The 34-year-old can be used as a streamer in deep leagues after slashing .252/.284/.485 with six home runs, 17 RBI, 16 runs, and three stolen bases over 109 plate appearances in 2023.

Sat Jun 3 202301:18Eddie Rosario Smacks Two Solo Homers In Braves Loss
Despite Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario's strong performance at the plate, going 3-for-4, his team fell short in a 3-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. Rosario proved to be the sole contributor to the Braves offensive output, generating all the runs by blasting two solo home runs in both the second and seventh innings off Arizona pitcher Merrill Kelly. With his overall slash line at .251/.280/.449, Rosario has also accumulated seven home runs and 20 RBI in 175 at-bats.

Tue Apr 18 202321:26Eddie Rosario On The Bench Tuesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder/designated hitter Eddie Rosario will start Tuesday's contest against the San Diego Padres on the bench. The former NLCS MVP hasn't found his swing yet, as he's slashing .200/.234/.333 with one home run through 14 games after posting just a .587 OPS last season. And with southpaw Blake Snell on the mound, it's a good chance to get the left-handed Rosario a day off. Marcell Ozuna will take his place at DH and bat eighth. The slugger hasn't been the same since 2020 and owns a .091 batting average with two long balls over 13 games. Fantasy managers can use the 32-year-old for his power but will get nothing in return in the average department.

Tue Apr 11 202314:20Eddie Rosario Moves Up To Five-Hole Tuesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario has moved up to the fifth spot in the club's batting order Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Luis Cessa. It's the highest the veteran has hit in the batting order so far this season in his 10th appearance. Rosario, 31, is off to an extremely slow start to the season, hitting just .148 without a home run or a stolen base along with a tiny .392 OPS across 29 trips to the plate. Braves skipper Brian Snitker is likely looking to get the lefty-swinging Rosario going against the right-handed Cessa this evening.

Sun Feb 26 202321:24Eddie Rosario Has Resolved Vision Issues
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario has fixed his vision issues that have plagued him over the last few seasons. The left-handed slugger underwent laser eye surgery in order to repair his vision problems. Since then, Rosario has said he's doing well and the coaching staff has been impressed with Rosario during camp. It sounds like the 31-year-old could get back on track during the 2023 season. Currently, Rosario isn't even in the top-450 players during early fantasy drafts. However, he could be a sneaky addition for some fantasy managers in deep leagues. There's a chance he goes back to being the hitter he was before, which would make him well above his current 450 status.

Tue Oct 11 202211:48Eddie Rosario On Bench Against Lefty In Game 1
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario will take a seat for Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Ranger Suarez on Tuesday. Rosario only had 28 at-bats against southpaws during the regular season and had just four hits against them. The switch-hitting Robbie Grossman is getting the start in left field and is hitting ninth in the batting order against Suarez. Grossman hit much better against lefties than he did against right-handers this year, slashing .320/.436/.443 with an .879 OPS, one home run, 18 RBI, 15 runs scored and a stolen base in 149 plate appearances. However, he won't have much DFS appeal for fantasy managers in the nine-hole.

Mon Aug 22 202215:19Eddie Rosario Returns To Lineup Monday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (hamstring) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth on Monday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Roansy Contreras. Rosario missed Sunday's series finale against the Houston Astros with a sore hamstring, but he'll return a day later. The 30-year-old should continue to start regularly against right-handed pitchers moving forward. Rosario has been a bit better of late, but overall he's hitting a rough .187/.239/.313 with four home runs, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored and three stolen bases in 180 plate appearances over 53 games for Atlanta in 2022. Rosario can be a streaky hitter, but he's yet to really go on a hot stretch at the plate this season.

Sun Aug 21 202213:02Eddie Rosario Resting Against Astros
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Houston Astros. Rosario is dealing with a sore left hamstring and should be considered day-to-day. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger only has 165 at-bats on the season and is hitting a rough .188/.240/.315 with four home runs, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored and three stolen bases for the Braves. With Rosario on the bench Sunday, Marcell Ozuna will return to the lineup in left field while hitting eighth against Astros right-hander Jose Urquidy. Ozuna hasn't played since being arrested on Friday morning for driving under the influence.

Tue Aug 16 202217:15Eddie Rosario Sitting Out On Tuesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the division-rival New York Mets. Rosario was injured on Monday and will likely miss a couple of days, but the Braves expect him to avoid a trip to the injured list. With Rosario sidelined, Robbie Grossman is starting in left field on Tuesday and is batting ninth against Mets right-hander Taijuan Walker. Grossman has gone 5-for-19 (.263) with no homers, one RBI and a run scored in his first eight games in Atlanta after being traded from the Detroit Tigers. The 32-year-old veteran was plagued by injuries earlier in the year and hit just .205/.313/.282 with two homers, 23 RBI, 24 runs scored and three stolen bases in 83 games for the Tigers.

Tue Aug 16 202200:20Eddie Rosario Day-To-Day With Left Hamstring Tightness
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (hamstring) exited Monday's 13-1 win over the Mets early with left hamstring tightness. However, manager Brian Snitker said that Rosario will only likely miss a day or two and should avoid a trip to the injured list, per the Athletic's David O'Brien. Rosario went 1-for-3 with a solo home run before exiting the game. This is good news for the Braves and fantasy managers, as Rosario has started to show signs of life at the plate in the month of August.

Sat Aug 13 202211:35Eddie Rosario Sitting Out First Game Of Doubleheader
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (rest) is not in the starting lineup for the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday. The Braves have been platooning Rosario with Robbie Grossman in left field. Left-hander Jesus Luzardo is on the mound for the Miami Marlins during the first game. That being said, Robbie Grossman will cover left field and bat sixth in this matchup. Fantasy managers should expect Rosario to suit up for the nightcap on Saturday.

Thu Jul 7 202212:48Eddie Rosario Hits First Homer
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario hit his first home run of the season Wednesday night, smacking a solo shot off Miles Mikolas in the fifth inning of a 3-0 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Rosario was 1-for-2 before being removed for a pinch hitter. It appears that Rosario will be used as a platoon bat for the time being, but given his left-handedness that still affords him the potential for plenty of playing time. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on the usage going forward, but Rosario has put forward plenty of solid fantasy seasons and could be worth a speculative add.

Sun Jun 26 202213:57Eddie Rosario Goes 1-For-4 In First Rehab Game
Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario (eye) played in his first rehab game at Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday. He played designated hitter in the game and went 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts in the game. Rosario had laser surgery to fix an issue with blurred vision back in April. He will likely need at least a few more rehab starts before rejoining the Braves, but he's trending in the right direction. Fantasy managers in five-outfielder leagues and deep leagues may want to take a look at the waiver wire and make sure Rosario isn't out there. The 30-year-old struggled to the tune of a .068/.163/.091 slash line this year prior to undergoing surgery, but he's proven to be a capable low-end outfielder for fantasy purposes in the past.
