Thu Feb 1513:23Francisco Lindor Says He Played Through Pain Last Year
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (elbow) said that he played through a lot of discomfort last season, but his elbow is feeling really good heading into the 2024 campaign. President of baseball operations David Stearns hinted that Lindor wouldn't have any restrictions on him in spring training after he had surgery in October to remove a bone spur from his right elbow. The 30-year-old All-Star didn't actually miss any time due to the injury in 2023, ultimately finishing with a .254/.336/.470 slash line, 31 home runs and 31 stolen bases in 160 games played. It was the first time he had an OPS above .800 since 2019, which is impressive considering he was playing hurt. RotoBaller currently has him ranked just outside the top-30 overall players for 2024.

Wed Oct 11 202312:30Francisco Lindor Has Surgery On His Elbow
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (elbow) had surgery on Tuesday to remove a bone spur from his right elbow. The Mets are saying that Lindor is expected to be fully ready for the start of spring training next year. It's a notable development heading into the offseason, but it shouldn't affect the 29-year-old for next season. Lindor got off to an ice-cold start in 2023 in his third season with the team, much like most of the team, and he finished with a .254/.336/.470 slash line with an .806 OPS, 31 home runs, 33 doubles, two triples, 98 RBI, 31 stolen bases and 108 runs scored in 160 games played. Despite being a disappointment in the average department, Lindor produced his first 30-30 season in his ninth big-league campaign.

Thu Sep 28 202312:15Francisco Lindor Explodes In Doubleheader Split With Marlins
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor had an incredible day on Wednesday in the doubleheader against the visiting Miami Marlins, going a combined 4-for-7 with three home runs, six RBI and two walks in the two games. With the three home runs, Lindor has reached the 30-homer mark for the fourth time in his career and for the first time since 2019, when he was still with the Cleveland Guardians. The 29-year-old All-Star got off to a slow start in 2023, but he's now put up his first 30-homer, 30-stolen base campaign and is four RBI short of reaching 100 RBI for the second straight season with the Mets.

Fri Sep 22 202312:29Francisco Lindor Reaches 30-Steal Mark
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor reached a personal milestone in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies, going 2-for-4 with a run scored, two stolen bases and a strikeout. He's now stolen four bases in his last four games and has reached the 30-stolen base mark for the first time in his career. The 29-year-old Puerto Rican is four home runs shy of joining the 30-30 club this year as well. He's currently slashing .251/.332/.452 with 26 home runs, 88 RBI, 30 stolen bases and 100 runs scored in 573 at-bats. Lindor got off to a miserably cold start this year and although he hasn't been that great at the plate in September, he is currently riding a modest six-game hitting streak that has seen him go 7-for-22 (.318) with an RBI, four steals and three runs scored.

Tue Aug 15 202312:20Francisco Lindor Steals 20th Base Monday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor reached the 20-20 mark in Monday night's 7-2 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. He finished the night 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, his 20th stolen base of the season and a walk. The four-time All-Star now has 22 home runs, 26 doubles, 70 RBI, 20 steals and 74 runs scored in 502 trips to the plate and 117 games despite getting off to a tough start in 2023. It's the third time in Lindor's career that he's reached the 20-20 mark, with the last time coming in 2019 with Cleveland. The 29-year-old needs to be in starting fantasy lineups on a daily basis, especially since he's gone 20-for-55 (.364) with three long balls, four doubles, eight RBI, three steals and 13 runs scored in 15 starts since July 28.

Sat Aug 12 202318:22Francisco Lindor Returning On Saturday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (side) is back in the starting lineup for Saturday's nightcap of the doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves. The 29-year-old was scratched from Friday's game due to soreness in his side. He underwent an MRI, but it didn't reveal anything serious. Lindor sat out the first game of the doubleheader, but will play in the second game. He'll bat second and play shortstop versus right-hander Spencer Strider on Saturday.

Sat Aug 12 202312:02Francisco Lindor's MRI Is Encouraging, Could Be Available Saturday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor's (side) MRI results came back with "pretty good news, all things considered," according to manager Buck Showalter. Lindor isn't in the lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, but Showalter hasn't ruled out Lindor's availability for either game. Jonathan Arauz is making his second straight start at shortstop in Game 1 on Saturday and is hitting in the nine-hole against Braves right-hander Allan Winans. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Lindor to start in Game 2, but the fact that he's available at all should mean he can avoid a trip to the injured list. The 29-year-old Puerto Rican has been much better since the All-Star break and is now hitting .246/.333/.469 with an .803 OPS, 22 home runs, 69 RBI, 18 stolen bases and 72 runs scored in 114 games in 2023.

Fri Aug 11 202319:41Francisco Lindor Scratched, Will Go For MRI Exam
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (side) was scratched from the starting lineup on Friday against the Atlanta Braves due to "right-side soreness," according to the team. Lindor will get an MRI exam on Saturday. Jonathan Arauz took over at the 6 for Lindor on Friday and was in the nine-hole against Braves right-hander Charlie Morton. Because of the injury, the 29-year-old will miss his first game of the 2023 season. Until we get the results of his imaging, fantasy managers should consider Lindor to be day-to-day. The four-time All-Star is currently hitting .246 (105-for-426) with 22 home runs, 25 doubles, two triples, 69 RBI, 18 stolen bases and 72 runs scored in 114 games in his third year in Queens. Lindor is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak in which he's batting .440 (11-for-25), so it's a bad time for him to go down with an injury.

Sun Jul 30 202317:13Francisco Lindor Slugs A Homer And A Double Sunday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Washington Nationals. Lindor's productive day at the plate included a home run and a double after smacking a homer just one game ago. His .236 batting average is quite a bit lower than his career batting average of .274. However, the 29-year-old does have 21 dingers and 65 RBI in 394 trips to the batter's box. He's also been speedy on the base path, swiping 17 bags in 2023.

Thu Jul 13 202321:52Francisco Lindor Hopes Recent Rise Carries Into Second Half
The New York Mets and shortstop Francisco Lindor start their campaign's second half on Friday for a three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 29-year-old's stick was catching fire before the break, slashing a potent .338/.421/.716 with seven home runs, 16 RBI, and seven stolen bases over his prior 20 games (74 at-bats). Lindor next faces off with southpaw Julio Urias on Friday. A big portion of the switch-hitting Lindor's power stems from his right-handed bat, belting eight homers in just 97 ABs as a righty-hitter this year. The reliable Lindor should continue to represent a set-and-forget shortstop play in season-long fantasy leagues.

Wed Jul 5 202314:12Francisco Lindor Steals Two Bases Tuesday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor picked up two stolen bases in the team's 8-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on the Fourth of July on Tuesday. Lindor also went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a strikeout in the contest. It was notable, with it being the 29-year-old's first game this year with more than one steal, and he now has 11 on the season. He got off to a very disappointing start in his third year with the Mets in 2023, but he's beginning to play the way he's capable of. Lindor is hitting .289 (15-for-52) with five home runs, three doubles, 12 RBI, five stolen bases and 13 runs scored in his last 15 games, dating back to June 18. The hot stretch has raised his season slash line to .224/.310/.448 in 85 games played. Fantasy managers will be hoping he can continue this into the start of the second half of the season.

Tue Jun 27 202309:16Francisco Lindor Drives In One Monday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 1-for-3 with an RBI in a 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. Lindor provided the Mets' lone run in the low-scoring contest, bringing Starling Marte around to score with a single in the fourth inning. The All-Star infielder is starting to heat up at the plate of late, hitting .333 with two homers, five runs, eight RBI, and two steals over his past seven games. Overall, Lindor is batting just .223 with 15 homers, 45 runs, 53 RBI, and nine steals across 292 at-bats this year.

Sun Jun 18 202312:51Francisco Lindor Back In Sunday's Lineup
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor is back at shortstop and is batting in the three-hole on Sunday against left-hander Matthew Liberatore and the St. Louis Cardinals. Lindor was out on Saturday after his wife gave birth to their daughter. Hopefully that sparks Lindor offensively, as he's hitting just .211 (56-for-265) on the season, although he has contributed 17 doubles, 12 home runs, 44 RBI, six stolen bases and 38 runs scored through 70 games (299 plate appearances). The four-time All-Star has really struggled in June, though, going 7-for-45 (.156) with two doubles, two homers, four RBI and two stolen bases in 14 games.

Sat Jun 17 202313:05Francisco Lindor Not In The Lineup On Saturday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor is absent from the lineup on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals. This is a scheduled day off for the veteran shortstop, who's slashing a meager .211/.289/.411 with 12 home runs, 44 RBI, and six stolen bases over 265 at-bats for the season. Luis Guillorme is filling in at shortstop and batting ninth against Adam Wainwright in Lindor's place.

Thu Jun 8 202318:25Francisco Lindor Making Rare Cameo As Cleanup Hitter
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor will function as the fourth batter in the team's lineup on Thursday against the Atlanta Braves. It will be only the 29-year-old's fifth start as a cleanup hitter in his career. Lindor is slashing .216/.290/.419 with 11 homers, 42 RBI, and four stolen bases during the third season of his lucrative 10-year contract with the Mets. Those are adequate numbers, but Lindor is yet to rekindle his once perennial All-Star form for the most part in New York. The two-time Silver Slugger is just 3-for-25 over his last seven games, but fantasy managers hope the shift to the four-hole augments Lindor's RBI potential. It's likely only a temporary move, however, with prototypical cleanup man Pete Alonso (hand) out of the lineup for Thursday's series finale.

Sat May 20 202300:57Francisco Lindor Caps Off Thriller With Walk-Off Single
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 3-for-6 with two runs scored and a game-winning single to sink the Cleveland Guardians 10-9 in a back-and-forth shootout on Friday. The 29-year-old delivered a memorable finish to his first game against the team that traded him in 2021. Lindor is yet to rediscover his Silver Slugger form with the Mets from his days with Cleveland, but he remains one of the most well-rounded fantasy shortstop options. The four-time All-Star is now slashing an improvable .235/.313/.419 with six homers, 32 RBI, and four stolen bases this year. Each of those hitting averages represent career lows, so expect Lindor's numbers to gradually rise as New York's offense continues to slug its way out of their recent funk.

Sun Apr 16 202300:57Francisco Lindor Cools Off On Saturday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor cooled off in Saturday's win over the Athletics. The 29-year-old had seven RBI and a homer in the 17-6 rout over Oakland on Friday. However, he wasn't as productive in this one, going 1-for-4. Lindor is putting up All-Star numbers this season, and he's currently tied for fourth in the league with 14 RBI. With the Mets on a three-game winning streak, the team will close out the series with the A's on Sunday against JP Sears, with Lindor going 2-for-3 with a double versus the lefty during his career.

Sun Apr 2 202301:31Francisco Lindor Strikes Out Twice Against Miami
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 1-for-5 in Saturday's win over the Miami Marlins. The 29-year-old has gotten off to a slow start this season, collecting two hits and an RBI in 11 at-bats. However, he's struck out five times, which is the bigger issue. Lindor amassed a career-high 133 strikeouts last season, so fantasy managers are certainly hoping things aren't heading in that direction. Fortunately, he provides value in other areas, so he remains a must-start fantasy option moving forward.

Sat Mar 11 202317:41Francisco Lindor Collects Two Hits, Looks Ready For Big Season
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 2-for-4 for Team Puerto Rico vs. Team Nicaragua on Saturday. Lindor hit leadoff in the lineup and scored two runs while also driving in one. Lindor had a blistering start to the spring before heading out for the World Baseball Classic. He was 7-for-18 (.389) with a .500 OBP, two home runs and four RBI in seven games. Lindor looks poised to take his age-29 season by storm for the Mets. He is ranked as Rotoballer's 29th best player and should be a great option at shortstop in his third year in New York. Expect a five-category contributor in the heart of a good lineup.

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor had a huge game at the plate in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Brewers. Lindor went 2-for-3 with a single, a seventh-inning go-ahead grand slam, and a walk. The 28-year-old has put together a nice bounce-back season, slashing .271/.345/.453 with 25 home runs, 99 RBI, and 16 stolen bases. Hopefully, he can finish out the season strong for fantasy managers and instill even more confidence heading into the 2023 season.
