Sun Jun 4 202316:35White Sox Release Hanser Alberto
The White Sox released infielder Hanser Alberto on Sunday. The 30-year-old spent time in the lineup while Elvis Andrus (oblique) was on the shelf. However, the team designated him for assignment a few days ago, a move made to prepare for his unconditional release. Alberto was hitting .220 in 82 at-bats this season, one of the lowest marks of his career. He'll likely find his way on another team, although it won't make much of a difference for fantasy managers, considering he wasn't on many rosters, to begin with.

Sun May 21 202316:18Hanser Alberto Day-To-Day
Chicago White Sox infielder Hanser Alberto (shoulder) exited Sunday's meeting with the Royals because of left shoulder soreness. The team announced he's day-to-day. The 30-year-old is batting .222 this season and has benefited from injuries throughout the lineup by receiving extra playing time. However, he's not rostered in many fantasy leagues, so a trip to the injured list will only impact a small group of managers.

Sun Apr 16 202314:00Hanser Alberto Lands On The IL
Chicago White Sox infielder Hanser Alberto (quad) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right quad. Wed Jan 11 202318:34Hanser Alberto Agrees To Minor-League Deal With White Sox
The Chicago White Sox agreed with free-agent infielder Hanser Alberto on a minor-league deal on Wednesday, according to sources. Alberto is likely to receive an invitation to major-league spring training after playing in 73 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022. In those 73 contests, the 30-year-old hit .244/.258/.365 with a .623 OPS, two home runs, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored in 159 plate appearances. If Alberto makes the White Sox's Opening Day roster out of spring training, he'll likely be filling a utility infield role and is unlikely to see regular playing time. In his seven-year major-league career, Alberto has slashed .272/.294/.380 with a .674 OPS, 19 home runs, 121 RBI, 149 runs and 12 stolen bases in 458 games with the Dodgers, Royals, Orioles and Rangers.

Tue Oct 11 202214:58Hanser Alberto Isn't On Dodgers' NLDS Roster
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Hanser Alberto isn't on the team's roster for their National League Division Series matchup with the San Diego Padres. The 29-year-old hit .244 with a .258 on-base percentage and a pair of home runs in 159 regular-season plate appearances for Los Angeles. He saw playing time at all four infield positions but saw the bulk of his playing time at second base and third base. The Dodgers' infield options for their series against the Padres include Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Justin Turner, Trea Turner, Miguel Vargas, Chris Taylor, and Gavin Lux.

Wed Mar 23 202216:58Hanser Alberto Joins Dodgers
Free-agent second baseman Hanser Alberto joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in spring camp on Tuesday. It's unclear if he's in camp on a major league or minor league deal. The 29-year-old spent last year with the Kansas City Royals, hitting .270/.291/.402 with two home runs, 24 RBI and 25 runs scored in 255 plate appearances over 103 games played. The utility infielder isn't guaranteed to have a spot on the Opening Day roster for a stacked Dodgers team. In his six big-league seasons, Alberto has slashed .276/.298/.383 with 17 home runs, 106 RBI and 136 runs scored in 385 games. Even if he makes LA's roster out of camp, he's one to ignore in mixed fantasy leagues.

Sat Oct 30 202120:26Royals Outright Hanser Alberto
The Kansas City Royals outrighted infielder Hanser Alberto off the 40-man roster on Friday. Alberto, who elected free agency, hit .270 with a .291 on-base percentage, two home runs, and three stolen bases in 255 plate appearances for Kansas City this past season. The veteran saw most of his starts in 2021 at third base for the Royals, but also saw significant time at both second base and shortstop. Right-handed pitcher Scott Blewett was also outrighted off the 40-man roster. Like Alberto, Blewett elected free agency.

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu injured his face and knee after colliding hard with Kansas City third baseman Hunter Dozier on the first base line in the opener of a doubleheader Friday. Shortly after both players left the game, the White Sox announced Abreu had suffered a facial contusion and laceration. He's also day-to-day. After popping up in the second inning, Dozier jogged out of the batter’s box with his head down. Abreu was running along the first base line while tracking the ball. The two players ran into each about 20 feet from home plate as catcher Yasmani Grandal caught the pop for the second out of the inning. Abreu and Dozier dropped to the ground and were attended to by the medical staff. After few minutes, Abreu got up and left the field walking on his own, but looking dazed and with his arms draped around two medical staffers. He was replaced at first base by Grandal.
