McBride was designated for assignment Tuesday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.

The Angels made a pair of trades Tuesday evening and needed to clear room on the 40-man roster for the newly acquired David Murphy, and McBryde was the casualty. McBryde was in the first round of cuts in spring training and struggled this season at Triple-A Salt Lake. In 45 relief appearances at Triple-A, McBryde was touched up for a 5.63 ERA and registered a WHIP of 1.640.
