ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Angels pitcher Taylor Cole and Felix Pena have combined for eight no-hit innings against the Seattle Mariners.The only Seattle player to reach base was designated hitter Omar Narvaez, who walked with one out in the fifth inning.Cole was the opener and worked two innings, striking out two on 22 pitches, 13 strikes. Pena has worked six innings and struck out six with one walk. The right-hander has thrown 76 pitches, 48 strikes.Pena got some help in the sixth inning when third baseman Matt Thaiss made a diving stop, gloved Mac Williamson's grounder and threw him out at first.The Angels have 10 no-hitters in their history, but only one combined. Mark Langston and Mike Whitt combined to no hit Seattle on April 11, 1990.The Angels led 13-0 after eight innings. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Outfielder Matt Joyce has reached agreement on a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants following his release by Cleveland.The Giants announced Wednesday the non-roster addition of Joyce, who is 34 and spent the past two seasons across the bay with Oakland. He played in just 83 games last season while dealing with a lingering back injury, batting .208 with seven home runs and 15 RBIs.The Indians signed Carlos Gonzalez to a minor league deal Tuesday, making Joyce expendable. He was released from his minor league contract, making him a free agent.Joyce, a left-handed hitter, had 25 homers and 68 RBIs while batting .243 in 141 games for the Athletics in 2017. He gives manager Bruce Bochy more depth for now in an outfield that is expected to feature Steven Duggar, Gerardo Parra and Mac Williamson.
