Wed Dec 20 202321:10Mets Acquire Adrian Houser, Tyrone Taylor From Brewers
The New York Mets acquired right-hander Adrian Houser and outfielder Tyrone Taylor from the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday in exchange for a minor-league right-hander Coleman Crow, whom the Mets acquired in the Eduardo Escobar trade, according to a source. The deal clears money for the Brewers, with Houser projected to make $5.6 million in salary arbitration and Taylor $1.7 million. The 30-year-old Houser will probably be in competition for a rotation spot in New York in spring training, especially if the Mets find a way to land Japanese star Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He had a solid 4.12 ERA with 96 strikeouts and 34 walks in 111 1/3 innings covering 21 starts and two relief outings in 2023. Taylor, 29, should open 2024 as outfield depth in Queens. He played in 81 games this past season due to an elbow injury and underwhelmed by hitting .234.

Fri Sep 22 202318:52Tyrone Taylor Out Of Friday's Lineup
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (hamstring) is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Miami Marlins. It's worth noting that Taylor was also out of the lineup for Thursday's game as well. It sounds like Taylor is dealing with a minor hamstring injury. Hopefully it's only a day-to-day issue and Taylor won't require a trip to the injured list. This season, Taylor is slashing an impressive .310/.344/.621 with four home runs and 12 RBI since the beginning of September. Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick, and Blake Perkins will cover the outfield versus right-hander JT Chargois on Friday.

Wed Jul 19 202315:28Tyrone Taylor Re-Enters Starting Lineup Wednesday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor is back in the starting lineup Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. It's Taylor's first start since July 15, as he's missed significant time due to injuries this season, most recently being reinstated from the 10-day injured list due to an elbow injury. Taylor has appeared in just 30 games this season, struggling mightily to a .160 average with one homer, five stolen bases, and a .414 OPS across 84 trips to the plate. The righty-swinging outfielder has even struggled severely against lefties, going just 2-for-22 with zero walks against southpaws on the campaign.

Fri Jul 14 202320:49Tyrone Taylor Reinstated From Injured List
The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) from the 10-day injured list on Friday to begin the second half of the regular season. Taylor was immediately back in the starting lineup on Friday, starting in right field and batting eighth against Cincinnati Reds right-hander Graham Ashcraft. The 29-year-old had been out since early June due to a sprained-right elbow, and he'll return to the Brewers as more of a depth outfielder. He'll also need to start hitting much better in order to secure more playing time for the contending Brewers. In 27 games earlier this year, he hit just .160 (12-for-75) with a homer, three doubles, four RBI, four stolen bases and five runs scored. Continue to ignore Taylor in mixed fantasy leagues.

Fri Jun 30 202309:22Tyrone Taylor Begins Rehab Assignment Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, according to MLB.com. It's unclear how many games the 29-year-old will need to get into before returning to the big league club, but it's definitely a positive sign. Taylor suffered a right-elbow sprain at the beginning of June and was placed on the injured list afterwards. Over just 27 contests this season, the former second-rounder's slashing .160/.179/.240 with one homer, five runs, four RBI, and four stolen bases. Fantasy managers in all formats can drop Taylor for a healthy option on the waiver wire.

Sat Jun 3 202312:51Darin Ruf, Tyrone Taylor Placed On Injured List
The Milwaukee Brewers placed first baseman Darin Ruf (knee) and outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday and recalled first baseman Jon Singleton and outfielder Blake Perkins from Triple-A Nashville in corresponding moves. Ruf suffered a right-knee laceration in Friday's game against the Cincinnati Reds, while Taylor is dealing with a right-elbow sprain. Ruf had only played in 11 games for Milwaukee and had just five hits in 26 at-bats with no home runs. Rowdy Tellez will continue to operate as the primary first baseman, with Singletary backing him up. Taylor opened this season on the IL with the same injury, so the 29-year-old is likely to miss extended time.

Sat May 13 202318:09Tyrone Taylor Absent From Saturday's Lineup
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor is missing from the lineup for Saturday's matchup against Zack Greinke and the Kansas City Royals. The former second-round draft pick has struggled in limited action this year, batting .212 with one home run and three steals over 10 games. Instead, Owen Miller is taking his spot in the lineup, playing third base and batting eighth. The 26-year-old looks to be coming into his own, slashing .323/.348/.435 with one long ball, nine runs, six RBI, and three stolen bases through 23 games. He's a solid option off the waiver wire, especially against Greinke, who owns a 5.18 ERA this season.

Tue May 2 202318:09Tyrone Taylor Activated, Starting On Tuesday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. That is great news after it was reported Taylor was expected to get back on the field this week. He has been sidelined all of April due to a right elbow sprain. In a corresponding move, outfielder Blake Perkins has been optioned to Triple-A. Last season, Taylor slashed .233/.286/.442 with 17 homers, 51 RBI in 120 games with the Brewers. He'll bat eighth and play right field against right-hander Ryan Feltner on Tuesday.

Sun Apr 30 202316:46Tyrone Taylor Could Return This Week
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) is hopeful to rejoin the active roster at some point this week. The 29-year-old has been sidelined since February due to a right elbow sprain. He continues to work his way back and has already played in four games during his rehab assignment. The expectation is that he'll play a few more games before joining the Brewers roster. They desperately need help in the outfield with Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) likely out for the rest of the season.

Wed Apr 26 202308:31Tyrone Taylor Making Progress In His Rehab
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) has joined Triple-A Nashville to continue his rehab assignment after he played in Arizona for a week, according to MLB.com. The 29-year-old is trying to return from a right elbow injury that has held him out for the entire season thus far. In 2022, Taylor slashed .233/.286/.442 with 17 bombs, 49 runs, 51 RBI, and three stolen bases across 120 games. His rehab assignment could be a lengthy one, but fantasy managers should expect to see the former second-rounder with the Brewers by mid-May. He should slot right into the club's starting outfield, especially with Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) likely out for the season.

Tue Mar 28 202312:34Tyrone Taylor Hoping To Return In Mid-May
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) will open the regular season on the injured list after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection at the end of February. He is expected to miss at least the first month of the season after dealing with this right elbow injury since last year. Taylor has resumed a throwing program, though and is hopeful of making his 2023 debut by the middle of May. When healthy, the 29-year-old is expected to be Milwaukee's regular right fielder. With Taylor sidelined, Brian Anderson is expected to see some more playing time in the outfield in the first month of the season. Fantasy managers would like Taylor to get on base more, but he'll be attractive for his power in deep mixed leagues with regular playing time when he returns.

Wed Mar 1 202311:50Tyrone Taylor Out At Least Three Weeks
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (elbow) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his elbow and will be sidelined from any baseball activity for at least three more weeks. "We're looking at missing the first month of the season," manager Craig Counsell said. The 29-year-old will begin the 2023 season on the injured list due to a right elbow sprain, which will open up more playing time for Brian Anderson and Tyler Naquin. In his fourth season with the Brewers last year, Taylor slashed .233/.286/.442 with a career-low .729 OPS, career-high 17 home runs, 51 RBI, 49 runs scored and three stolen bases in a career-high 120 games played. He should be avoided in mixed redraft leagues on draft day.

Sun Sep 4 202200:42Tyrone Taylor Homers Twice Saturday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor broke out in a big way on Saturday night, going 3-for-5 at the plate with two home runs, a double, three RBI, three runs scored, and a stolen base. Taylor now has 15 home runs and three steals on the season to go with 38 runs scored and 44 RBI in 311 at-bats. Before this performance, Taylor last recorded a multi-hit game on August 3. Despite this outburst, Taylor remains only a fringe fantasy option in most formats.

Tue Sep 21 202120:59Tyrone Taylor Activated And Starting On Tuesday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (oblique) was activated from the injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He is slotted into the No. 8 spot in the team's batting order for the game. To clear roster space for Taylor, relief pitcher Miguel Sanchez was sent to Triple-A. Taylor missed about a month due to a right oblique strain. Over 82 games on the year, he's slashing .245/.324/.453 with 10 home runs, five stolen bases, 37 RBI and 30 runs. He will likely be in a bit of a platoon situation in the Brewers outfield, splitting playing time with Jackie Bradley Jr. and Jace Peterson.

Sat Aug 21 202116:57Tyrone Taylor Expected To Miss 3-4 Weeks
Updating an earlier report, Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (oblique) is expected to miss three to four weeks with a right oblique strain, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. This news comes following results from an MRI on Saturday, and considering how close it is to the end of the fantasy season, this pretty much ends Taylor's year in terms of his value. In deeper formats managers can continue to stash him on the IL if they have room just in case he can make an impact in the fantasy playoffs, but in the majority of formats he can safely be dropped to the waiver wire.

Sat Aug 21 202113:56Tyrone Taylor Lands On Injured List Saturday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a right oblique strain, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Taylor had exited Friday's game due to oblique discomfort after going 0-for-2 with a strikeout prior to being replaced on defense. He's been a decent play in deeper formats this season, slashing .245/.324/.453 with 10 homers, five steals, 37 RBI and 30 runs scored over 82 games. To replace him on the active roster, the Brewers recalled relief pitcher Eric Yardley. It's hard to tell just how long Taylor may be out with this injury, and for now managers should go ahead and stash him on their IL.

Fri Aug 20 202121:36Tyrone Taylor Exits Early With Oblique Issue
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (oblique) exited early on Friday night due to right oblique discomfort, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Taylor had gone 0-for-2 with a strikeout before he was replaced on defense in the top of the fifth inning by Jace Peterson. Managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment, but given the oblique injuries we've seen this season, it's entirely possible a stint on the injured list could be looming for Taylor. Keep an eye out for further updates on his condition after the game.

Sun Jul 25 202102:43Sandoval loses no-hitter in 9th, Angels beat Twins 2-1
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Patrick Sandoval had his no-hit bid broken up with one out in the ninth inning on a soft double by rookie Brent Rooker and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Minnesota Twins 2-1 on Saturday night. Sandoval, a 24-year-old lefty who began the game with a 3-13 career record, struck out a career-high 13. There have already been seven no-hitters in the majors this season. The big league record of eight was set in 1884, the first year overhand pitching was permitted. The Twins hadn’t come close to a hit until Rooker, who fanned his first three times up, flared an opposite-field fly that fell just inside the line in right. Sandoval (3-4) smiled after the ball fell, retired the next batter and then was pulled after 108 pitches. He walked one and hit two. Closer Raisel Iglesias allowed an RBI double to Josh Donaldson before getting his 21st save in 25 chances. José Berríos (7-5) allowed two unearned runs in seven innings in perhaps his final start for Minnesota. ASTROS 4, RANGERS... [More]
