Sat Mar 2309:57Jose Ramirez Having A Slow Spring
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez had his third straight game with a hit on Friday in a 10-0 Cactus League win over the Rangers. He's also had a hit in five out of the last six games, but he's yet to have a multi-hit performance this spring and is hitting just .200 (9-for-45) through 15 Cactus League games. On the bright side, he's hitting for power with three doubles and four home runs compared to just two singles. The 5x All-Star typically goes off the board as the first third baseman overall, due in part to his stolen base prowess at a position that is usually devoid of base stealers that can also produce in other categories like Ramirez can, but the 31-year-old has yet to swipe a bag in 46 spring PA, although he has been caught once. Regardless, the 4x Silver Slugger Award winner has been one of the most consistent and durable hitters for eight years now and shows no signs of slowing down, so look for another All-Star caliber campaign again in 2024.

Wed Feb 2113:25Jose Ramirez Could Hit Second This Year
Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said he's talked to All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez about hitting second and third in the lineup this year. Ramirez has traditionally hit third but moved into the No. 2 spot last year to try and help the team's struggling offense. Either way, Ramirez is going to hit near the top of Cleveland's batting order, and it's probably not going to affect his overall production. The 31-year-old switch-hitter is one of the best all-around hitters in baseball despite not having much protection around him in Cleveland. He's been an All-Star each of the last three years and five times overall, and he slashed a strong .282/.356/.475 again in 2023 with 24 homers, 80 RBI and 28 steals in 156 games. J-Ram should come off the board in the second round of fantasy drafts.

Sun Aug 27 202317:58Jose Ramirez Goes Deep In Win Over Toronto
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, two RBI, a walk, and a stolen base in a 10-7 extra-innings win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. J-Ram filled up the stat sheet in this contest, highlighted by his two-run homer off Yusei Kikuchi in the top of the third inning. He added a single, a stolen base, a walk, and another run scored as well. Ramirez has been a bit of a letdown, as far as RBI are concerned, this season but that's primarily due to team context. Overall, he's been one of the better third basemen in fantasy and will look to finish strong as the playoffs are fast approaching. The veteran third baseman is slashing .279/.353/.489 with 21 home runs, 71 RBI, and 21 stolen bases over 487 at-bats on the season.

Sat Aug 12 202312:33Jose Ramirez Begins Serving Suspension Saturday
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez has had his suspension reduced from three games to two, and he will begin serving his suspension on Saturday. Ramirez was appealing MLB's suspension for his involvement in a brawl with the Chicago White Sox last Saturday in which he dropped Tim Anderson with a right hook after a slide into second base. Fantasy managers won't have the 30-year-old All-Star available for the rest of the weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays, but he should be back in action on Tuesday to face the Cincinnati Reds. J-Ram has once again been a set-and-forget fantasy commodity for lineups in 2023. He's hitting .282/.357/.487 with an .844 OPS, 18 home runs, 65 RBI, 18 stolen bases and 68 runs scored in his 439 at-bats.

Mon Aug 7 202317:03Jose Ramirez Gets Three-Game Ban
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez has been suspended three games by Major League Baseball for his part in Saturday night's brawl with the Chicago White Sox and shortstop Tim Anderson, according to sources. Ramirez is appealing the suspension and will remain in the lineup at third base and in the three-hole on Monday against the Toronto Blue Jays, so fantasy managers should keep him in their lineups to start the week. The 30-year-old took a blind right hook that landed on Anderson's jaw and knocked him to the ground before things were broken up on Saturday night. Fantasy managers need to keep in mind that J-Ram could miss some games at some point this week, but as long as he's playing, he's a must-start in all fantasy lineups.

Mon Aug 7 202312:20Jose Ramirez Facing Multi-Game Suspension
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez is facing a multi-game suspension from the league as MLB sorts out discipline following Ramirez's brawl with Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson on Saturday. The teams expect to hear from the league on Monday, and fantasy managers should brace for being without Ramirez for an extended period. Ramirez and Anderson threw punches at second base in the sixth inning on Saturday night, with Ramirez knocking Anderson to the ground with a blind right hook that landed on Anderson's chin. Both players were ejected, along with Cleveland manager Terry Francona, third base coach Mike Sarbaugh, closer Emmanuel Clase and White Sox manager Pedro Grifol.

Sun Aug 6 202312:05Jose Ramirez Ejected After Melee With White Sox
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez had quite an eventful game against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday in a 7-4 loss. Ramirez went 1-for-3 in the contest with a double and an RBI, and he was also ejected from the contest after a fight with White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson after he slid into second base in the seventh inning. The 30-year-old threw a right hook that connected with Anderson's jaw, dropping him. MLB is reviewing the incident and will most certainly hand down a suspension to Ramirez, so fantasy managers should expect him to miss some games in the near future. Saturday's incident aside, J-Ram remains a must-start when he's active. He's now hitting .289/.360/.501 with an .861 OPS, 18 homers, 65 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 67 runs scored in 419 at-bats in 2023.

His RBI count for July remains relatively low, with just two runs batted in across 16 contests.

Tue Jul 18 202314:17Jose Ramirez Hits Two Doubles Monday
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored on Monday in the team's 11-0 shutout win over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first game of the series. Ramirez hasn't hit all that well so far in the month of July, though, as Monday's two-hit game was his first multi-hit performance of the month since July 6. Overall, he's hitting just .231 (12-for-52) with a homer, four doubles, two RBI, a stolen base and six runs scored in 13 games in July. Still, the 30-year-old is one of the best all-around fantasy players in baseball, and he's hitting .285 (101-for-354) on the year with 14 home runs, 54 RBI, 10 stolen bases and 56 runs scored. Continue to start Ramirez on a daily basis.

Mon Jul 10 202321:15Jose Ramirez Heads Into All-Star Break With 14 Home Runs
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez put together his typical high-quality production in the first half. He heads into the All-Star break with slashing .289/.364/.506 with 14 homers, 55 runs, 53 RBI, and nine steals across 336 at-bats. The star infielder is on pace to post his third straight season with at least 20 homers and 100 RBI as he continues to show why he's one of the top fantasy hitters in the game. He will play in Tuesday night's All-Star game as a reserve, his fifth time achieving the honor.

Wed Jun 28 202302:00Jose Ramirez Reaches Twice, Steals A Base
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a single, a walk, and a stolen base in a 2-1 win over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. Offense was at a premium in this one as starters Gavin Williams and Brady Singer were both locked in. Ramirez was able to reach twice and swipe his seventh base of the season but his teammates weren't able to drive him in. J-Ram has quietly been tearing it up over the last 15 contests, slashing .377/.443/.639 with 23 hits and three home runs over that span. On the year, the 30-year-old owns a .294/.360/.512 batting line with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, and seven stolen bases across 293 at-bats.

Sun Jun 18 202322:27Jose Ramirez Triples In Rout Of Arizona
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 1-for-6 with an RBI triple and a run scored in a 12-3 blowout win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. Ramirez opened up the scoring in this one when he laced an RBI triple off Zach Davies to score Steven Kwan in the top of the first inning. He would come around to score in the same frame as well. It's a bit disappointing that Ramirez wasn't able to contribute more than the RBI three-bagger in this one, considering Cleveland put up 12 runs. Overall, the 30-year-old fantasy stalwart is slashing .285/.349/.502 with 11 home runs, 43 RBI, and six stolen bases over 267 at-bats.

Sun Jun 11 202310:21Jose Ramirez Absent From Sunday’s Lineup
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez will get a rare day off on Sunday against the Houston Astros. The 30-year-old takes a seat for just the fourth time this season and after going 10-for-23 with four homers over his last five outings. Gabriel Arias will cover the hot corner and hit sixth against Brandon Bielak for this one. Look for Ramirez to return to action for Tuesday's series opener against the San Diego Padres if he doesn't pinch-hit at some point on Sunday. The four-time Silver Slugger is slashing .278/.348/.494 with 10 long balls, 38 RBI, and five stolen bases in 2023.

Fri Jun 9 202303:20Jose Ramirez Shatters Homer-Less Skid With Three Blasts
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 3-for-5 with three homers in his initial three at-bats and five RBI during a 10-3 rout of the Boston Red Sox on Thursday. The 30-year-old had gone 15 games without going deep, but he took care of that dry spell in a copious fashion in this one. Ramirez also launched his 200th career long ball with his second round-tripper of the contest. The four-time Silver Slugger is hitting .267 with an .807 OPS to go with nine taters, 36 RBI, and three stolen bases this season. Ramirez aims to improve his .474 SLG, which is excellent for some, but his lowest since 2016.

Sat Jun 3 202300:52Jose Ramirez Goes Hitless In Shutout Loss on Friday
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in a 1-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Friday. The Guardians couldn't get a whole lot going against Bailey Ober and company on Friday. Ramirez had a seven-game hit streak going into this one but that was obviously snapped. Even with the recent steak, he's scuffled a bit over the last few weeks, batting just .242 with a .740 OPS over the last 15 contests. Overall, his numbers are just fine, though, with a .271/.340/.452 triple-slash line with six home runs, 30 RBI, and five stolen bases over 210 at-bats on the season.

The 30-year-old fantasy stalwart is rocking a 284/.360/.453 triple-slash line to go along with four home runs, 22 RBI, and five stolen bases over 148 at-bats on the year. Sat May 6 202321:54Jose Ramirez Singles And Scores On Saturday
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a single and a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Minnesota Twins. J-Ram singled off Sonny Gray in the bottom of the fourth inning and would come around to score in that same frame via a Josh Bell single. The 30-year-old All-Star is off to a stellar start this season, slashing .283/.367/.441 with three home runs, 17 RBI, and five stolen bases across 127 at-bats. If there is one thing that fantasy managers can critique so far, it's the lack of power. Ramirez had seven long balls at this exact point last year but there's nothing to suggest he won't start putting the ball over the fence soon.
