The Chicago White Sox placed newly acquired outfielder Charlie Tilson on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained left hamstring.Outfielder J.B. Shuck was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to replace Tilson, who suffered the injury during his major league debut on Tuesday night. The 23-year-old was attempting to make a diving catch in the fifth inning of an 11-5 loss to Detroit.Tilson, who needed assistance to get off the field, was involved in the Zach Duke deal with the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend.--The St. Louis Cardinals placed left-handed relief pitcher Tyler Lyons on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee stress reaction. The St. Louis Cardinals placed left-handed relief pitcher Tyler Lyons on the 15-day disabled Wednesday with a right knee stress reaction. The move is retroactive to July 31.The 28-year-old Lyons, who last pitched on Saturday at Miami, is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA over 48 innings in 30 games this season, including five appearances during which he has worked three or more innings.The Cardinals recalled left-hander Dean Kiekhefer from Triple-A Memphis to take Lyons' spot on the roster.Kiekhefer, who had been optioned to Memphis prior to Tuesday night's game, has made 14 appearances for the Cardinals, going 0-0 with a 4.85 ERA in 13 innings. He has been unscored upon in each of his last six appearances dating to June 3.Kiekhefer, 27, has posted a 4-1 record with a 2.00 ERA in 23 relief appearances for Memphis this season.

The St. Louis Cardinals placed right-hander Trevor Rosenthal on the 15-day disabled and recalled left-hander Dean Kiekhefer from Triple-A Memphis prior to Tuesday's doubleheader versus the New York Mets.St. Louis also recalled Sam Tuivailala to serve as the club's 26th man. He is available for the second contest against the Mets.Rosenthal, who has been nursing right shoulder inflammation, has posted a 2-5 mark with a 5.13 ERA in 40 games this season.Kiekhefer has made 11 appearances with the Cardinals this season and recorded a 4-1 mark with two saves and a 2.00 ERA in 23 relief outings with the Redbirds.Tuivailala logged two innings in three relief appearances with St. Louis earlier this month.
