Fri Aug 3 201814:20FANTASY PLAYS: MLB trade deadline did not disappoint
Major League Baseball's July 31 trade deadline did not disappoint, as several fantasy relevant players now play for new teams. As in previous weeks, several productive fantasy players including Wilson Ramos, Brian Dozier and Chris Archer were traded from the AL to the NL. You should be busy trying to put together some trades of your own in order to improve your fantasy baseball team, but even this deep into the season you can still find value on your league's waiver wire. Herrera, 22, is batting .258/.315/.360 with three homers and six stolen bases across 365 plate appearances.
Herrera looked like a interesting dynasty league asset after a huge 2013 campaign at Low-A Asheville during which he paired a .343 batting average with 16 homers and 21 stolen bases, but his subsequent struggles in the California League the past two seasons have dimmed his outlook. Moreover, his position change in 2015 from shortstop to center field only further hurts his long-term fantasy impact since he now longer plays at a spot where offense typically comes at a premium on the big-league level.
