Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant left Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves in the first inning after spraining the little finger on his left hand in a head-first slide.X-rays were negative, ruling out a fracture, and Bryant was listed as day to day.Bryant, the reigning National League MVP, hit the foot of Braves third baseman Johan Camargo with his hand as he tried to advance on a pitch in the dirt. He was thrown out by catcher Tyler Flowers to end the top of the first.Bryant is hitting .275 with 19 home runs and 40 RBIs this season.--Tampa Bay Rays right fielder Steven Souza Jr. strained his left hip in the top of the first inning while sliding into second base in the game against the Oakland Athletics.X-rays were negative, and Souza will be evaluated further when the Rays return to Florida after the game.Souza led off the game with a walk, but he slid awkwardly into second base on a steal attempt as he was thrown out by A's catcher Bruce Maxwell.Souza is batting .271 with 20 homers and 60 RBIs this season.--The New York Yankees added third baseman Todd Frazier and right-handed relievers David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle to the active roster prior to Wednesday afternoon's game against the Minnesota Twins.Frazier when 0-for-1, and Kahnle pitched one scoreless inning.New York obtained the three players from the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night for Blake Rutherford, the Yankees' top outfield prospect, two more minor-leaguers -- left-hander Ian Clarkin and outfielder Tito Polo -- and veteran right-hander Tyler Clippard.To make room on the roster, the Yankees optioned left-hander Chasen Shreve to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and designated infielder Ji-Man Choi and infielder/outfielder Rob Refsnyder for assignment.--Yoan Moncada, widely considered the top prospect in baseball, was called up by the Chicago White Sox.One day after dealing third baseman Todd Frazier to the New York Yankees as part of an ongoing purge of big-league assets, the White Sox shifted gears on their rebuild and plan to put Moncada and other top prospects in a burgeoning farm system on the field in Chicago.Moncada was slotted sixth in the order for his debut with the White Sox on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.Moncada, a switch-hitter originally signed by the Boston Red Sox in a deal that included a $31.5 million signing bonus, played primarily second base in the minor leagues.
