The Orioles released Yoon Thursday and he signed with a Korean team, MASN Sports reports.
Yoon was one of the top Korean pitchers before signing a three-year deal with the Orioles last year. He was abominable at Triple-A , with a 5.74 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 23 appearances. The Orioles had moved on and Yoon was not thought of as having any shot at making the big league roster. Yoon wanted to return to South Korea and the Orioles will save a nice chunk of change - $4.3 million - in the process.

Yoon (elbow) has been reinstated from the minor league DL and allowed four runs in 1.1 innings for Triple-A Norfolk Tuesday.
Yoon came on in relief in extra innings Tuesday after throwing a scoreless inning on August 1. It does not appear that Yoon is going to be in the Triple-A rotation any time soon. It was anticipated that he might help at the MLB level this season, but with injuries and ineffectiveness this season, that plan appears to be a wash.

Sat Apr 19 201411:22Orioles RHP Yoon strkes out four
Orioles right-handed pitcher Suk-min Yoon went 5 2/3 innings on Friday, allowing eight hits and two runs (1 earned) for Triple-A Norfolk.
Yoon sports a 9.49 ERA and batters are hitting .417/.462/.633 against him, so the relatively small investment made by the Orioles in the KBO alum looks like it won't have much of a return in the near term.

Suk-min Yoon is scheduled to make his Orioles' debut on Saturday.
Yoon is hoping to arrive in Orioles' camp on Thursday after finally obtaining his work visa. Because of the time he's missed, the South Korean right-hander is likely to begin the year in extended spring training before heading to Triple-A. He'll be a fallback bullpen option after that.

Wed Mar 5 201411:42Yoon still waiting on work visa
Suk-Min Yoon is scheduled to fly to Canada on March 10 in order to obtain his work visa.
The date keeps getting pushed back, which has prevented Yoon from making his Grapefruit League debut. It's possible he'll pitch in a simulated game before he leaves for Canada, but the Orioles would obviously like to get a better look at him before the start of the season. As of now, it's likely he'll begin the year in the minors.

Sat Mar 1 201411:38Yoon's spring debut delayed by work visa
Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Saturday that Suk-Min Yoon's spring debut has been delayed while the right-hander is still working on obtaining his work visa.
He was expected to appear in his first game with the O's either March 6 or 7, but there now appears to be no definitive timetable for that appearance. The longer he goes without appearing in a game, the stronger the chances that he'll begin the season in the minor leagues.
