NEW YORK (AP) — The Yankees have recalled brazen young outfielder Clint Frazier from Triple-A more than two months after sending him down amid a roster crunch.Frazier rejoined the team before Sunday's game against Oakland as rosters expanded for September. The 24-year-old hit .283 with 11 homers and an .843 OPS in 53 games with New York this season, becoming a fan favorite before several embarrassing miscues in the outfield led to booing at Yankee Stadium.Frazier was demoted in mid-June and called it a "tough pill to swallow." The move came after the club acquired slugger Edwin Encarnación and with Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge nearing returns from injury. Frazier has been with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since, even as the Yankees' injury woes continued. (AP) — The Oakland Athletics have activated outfielder Stephen Piscotty from the injured list and claimed catcher Dustin Garneau off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.Piscotty had been out since June 30 with a sprained right knee. He played five games in the minors while rehabbing and batted .304 with one home run and three RBIs.To make room on the roster, the A's optioned second baseman Franklin Barreto to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday. (AP) — Cincinnati outfielder Scott Schebler and Texas pitcher Matt Bush just missed the cutoff for salary arbitration eligibility, while Chicago Cubs pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. and Toronto pitcher Joe Biagini earned the final spots.The Major League Baseball Players Association said Thursday the cutoff for eligibility this winter is 2 years, 134 days of major league service, up from 2 years, 123 days last year. The top 22 percent of players by service time with at least two years but less than three are eligible for arbitration as long as they had at least 86 days this year. SEATTLE (AP) — The Oakland Athletics have placed right-handed reliever Liam Hendriks on the 10-day disabled list due to a right groin strain.The A's were able to make a quick swap of relievers on Saturday, activating Ryan Dull from the disabled list to take Hendriks' spot. Hendriks left Friday's series opener against Seattle in the middle of an at-bat in the eighth inning after throwing a pitch. Hendriks had made six appearances early in the season.Dull had already rejoined the A's after missing time with a strained right shoulder and was likely to be activated from the disabled list sometime during the weekend series.
