C.J. Retherford was suspended 50 games for violating the minor league baseball drug policy.
Retherford, who was released by the Dodgers earlier this week, tested positive for an amphetamine. The 27-year-old was batting .219/.273/.404 with four homers, 26 RBI and a .677 OPS through 47 games this season with Double-A Chattanooga.

Dodgers re-signed catcher C.J. Retherford to a minor league contract.
Retherford posted a combined .311 batting average with 23 home runs, 92 RBI and a .913 OPS between High-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Chattanooga last season. The Dodgers have also signed LHP Thomas Melgarejo and SS Miguel Rojas to minor league deals.
