Sat Nov 6 2010 | 02:24 | Melvin Ely starts, plays 30 minutes for Nuggs |
Melvin Ely started in place of injured Nene on Friday and had five points and eight boards in 30 minutes. |
He also had a steal and two blocks, while Gary Forbes, who was a surprise starter in the last one, failed to get off the bench. Ely has no value, as Nene isn't expected to miss too much time. Shelden Williams added 12 points, six boards and a block in another start, while Al Harrington had 18 points and eight boards off the bench. |

Melvin Ely will start in place for Nene for the Nuggets on Friday. |
No fantasy value here, no matter what he does tonight. And everything we're hearing is that Nene won't play tonight. |

Sun Oct 17 2010 | 06:26 | Ely draws start at PF with Anthony (rest) out |
Melvin Ely drew the start at PF with Carmelo Anthony (rest) out on Saturday, and didn't do anything to distinguish himself in his 23 minutes with eight points on 4-of-7 shooting and more turnovers (six) than rebounds (four). |
With the Nuggets decimated in their frontcourt to begin the year, he may be able to earn a roster spot. Even if he were to theoretically draw some starts for the Nuggets, he still wouldn't be worth touching fantasy leagues. |
Sat Sep 25 2010 | 10:52 | Nuggets invite fleet of big men to camp |
Former Hornets big man Melvin Ely will join the Nuggets during training camp this year, as they look to fill out their frontcourt rotation. |
Joining Ely will be centers Courtney Sims and Eric Boateng, as well as forwards Shane Edwards and Gary Forbes. Sims and Ely seem like the most likely players to earn guaranteed contracts as backup big men. |
