The Miami Marlins promoted outfielder
Jerar Encarnacion to the major leagues on Friday. Encarnacion and fellow prospect
Lewin Diaz will join the Marlins with
Jesus Aguilar and
Jesus Sanchez getting placed on the COVID injured list on Friday. Encarnacion has progressed through the system rapidly this season as he was promoted to Triple-A in the middle of May. The 24-year-old has impressed in the minors this season, hitting .313 with 13 homers, 40 runs, 28 RBI, and four steals in 224 at-bats between Double-A and Triple-A in 2022. Encarnacion is ranked as Miami's No. 20 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He's worth a look if available in deeper dynasty leagues, although his stay with Miami could be short if Aguilar and/or Sanchez don't need a long stay on the COVID IL.
