Thu Sep 2612:36Brenton Doyle Getting A Breather
After returning to the lineup on Tuesday after missing the weekend series against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers due to a knee issue, Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle will get a day to rest for Thursday's series finale at Coors Field versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Sam Hilliard is getting the starting nod in center field and is batting sixth for the Rockies against Cardinals right-hander Kyle Gibson. The 26-year-old Doyle has been the most relevant fantasy player in the thin air of Colorado this year with a .262/.318/.450 slash line, .768 OPS, 23 home runs, 72 RBI, 29 stolen bases and 82 runs scored in 538 total at-bats. He should be back in there on Friday for the series opener versus the Dodgers at Coors Field. Hilliard has never faced Gibson in his career and enters the contest with nine long balls, 26 RBI and five stolen bases in his 130 at-bats in 2024.

Tue Sep 2417:38Brenton Doyle Back In Action On Tuesday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) is starting in center field and is batting third for the Rockies on Tuesday at Coors Field against the St. Louis Cardinals and rookie right-hander Michael McGreevy. Doyle will return on Tuesday after missing the three-game series over the weekend versus the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers due to right-knee soreness. The 26-year-old will now hope to finish off the 2024 season on a strong note in the final few days. Even if he doesn't, it's been a standout year for Doyle, who comes into Tuesday's contest with a .264/.321/.449 slash line, .770 OPS, 22 home runs, 71 RBI, 29 stolen bases and 81 runs scored in 145 games in just his second year in the majors. Doyle's power-speed combination at Coors Field will make him a popular fantasy outfielder heading into 2025 drafts.

Sun Sep 2213:18Brenton Doyle Continues To Sit On Sunday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) remains out of the starting nine as the Rockies look to clinch a series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Doyle will now miss his third consecutive game due to knee soreness. As a result, Sam Hilliard will cover center field this afternoon and bat in the sixth-hole. Doyle has had a great sophomore campaign where he has hit for a solid .264/.321/.449 line with 22 home runs and 29 stolen bases. The 26-year-old will likely be a popular pick in drafts next spring given his potential to contribute to all five standard categories. Hillard should be faded in DFS lineups this afternoon as he will face Dodger right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto who carries a strong 2.63 ERA into Sunday's match.

Fri Sep 2019:54Brenton Doyle Scratched With Knee Soreness
Colorado Rockies center fielder Brenton Doyle (knee) has been scratched from the starting lineup on Friday against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium due to left-knee soreness. With Doyle taking the night off, Sam Hilliard will make the start in center field and will hit seventh against Dodgers right-handed opener Ryan Brasier. For now, fantasy managers should consider Doyle to be day-to-day and check back on his status on Saturday to see if he's available. Hilliard has never faced Brasier in his career and is hitting .259 (29-for-112) in 2024 in a part-time role with eight long balls, 25 RBI and four stolen bases in 50 games in his return to Colorado after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Rockies. Tue Sep 1017:00Brenton Doyle Back In Tuesday's Lineup
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) is in center field and is batting third for the Rockies on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers and rookie right-hander Keider Montero at Comerica Park. A minor injury to his pinkie kept Doyle out of the team's last game, but he's back in there now and should be returned to starting lineups in all fantasy leagues. Doyle has gone only 3-for-21 (.143) with a walk and nine strikeouts in six games so far in September, but he's quickly proven to be the most impressive fantasy bat the last-place Rockies have to offer. In 136 games in just his second big-league season in 2024, Doyle has slashed .268/.328/.465 with a .793 OPS, 22 home runs, 66 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 553 plate appearances. His power/speed combination plays in all formats. Doyle has never faced Montero in his young career.

Sun Sep 813:14Brenton Doyle Sitting Out On Sunday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) will remain out of the starting nine on Sunday as the Rockies look to clinch a series victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Doyle left Saturday's match early after injuring his finger when attempting to make a catch. As a result, 30-year-old Sam Hillard will cover center field on Sunday afternoon. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Doyle's status as we enter the new week. Doyle has enjoyed a great 2024 season boasting a .268 AVG with 22 round-tripper and 26 stolen bases. Hillard has enjoyed a nice surge at the plate as of late, riding a .278 AVG and a .722 SLG. However, he has a difficult matchup against Milwaukee right-hander Freddy Peralta.

Wed Aug 2816:22Brenton Doyle Back In Rockies Lineup Versus Marlins
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (knee) is back in center field and is hitting cleanup for Colorado on Wednesday at Coors Field against Miami Marlins right-hander Max Meyer. Doyle will return to the starting lineup on Wednesday after sitting out the first two games of the series against the Fish due left-patellar tendinitis. It's something that the 26-year-old dealt with earlier this year as well, so it's worth watching moving forward. But for now, fantasy managers will want to get him right back into their starting lineups everywhere as Colorado's most potent fantasy name. He has taken the next step in his second MLB season in 2024, already reaching the 20/20 mark while delivering 63 RBI and 74 runs scored in 126 games. Doyle has hit .304 (14-for-46) with a homer, four RBI and three steals in his last 12 games since Aug. 12.

Tue Aug 2716:12Brenton Doyle Still Out On Tuesday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (leg) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday at Coors Field against the Miami Marlins. Doyle will miss a second straight game after being scratched from the series opener against the Fish with leg soreness. Manager Bud Black said that Doyle could be out a few more games, so it's unclear if he'll return to the field before Thursday's series finale against Miami. The Rockies will give Sam Hilliard another start in center field and he'll hit eighth against Marlins right-hander Roddery Munoz. The 26-year-old Doyle has taken the next step in his second year in the majors with 21 home runs, 25 stolen bases and 63 RBI while also hitting .269 (124-for-461) with an even .800 OPS. He's become a must-start in all fantasy leagues for his power/speed combination when he's active. Hilliard will merely be a low-upside DFS sleeper on Tuesday.

Tue Aug 2712:24Brenton Doyle May Need Another Few Days Off
Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black said that outfielder Brenton Doyle (leg) may need another day or two off after he was a late scratch on Monday against the Miami Marlins due to leg soreness. Doyle should be considered day-to-day, but fantasy managers should be prepared to keep him on their benches for another couple of days. With Doyle out on Monday against the Fish, Sam Hilliard drew the start in center field at Coors Field. The 26-year-old Doyle has been the best offensive producer for the Rockies in 2024 and has evolved into a must-start for fantasy managers with his .269/.329/.471 slash line, .800 OPS, 21 home runs, 63 RBI, 25 stolen bases and 74 runs scored in 461 at-bats. He's currently hitting .253 (21-for-83) with three homers, four doubles, a triple, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 22 games in the month of August.

Mon Aug 2618:46Brenton Doyle Scratched On Monday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (leg) has been scratched ahead of Monday's game against the Miami Marlins. The team has decided to pull Doyle from the game due to right leg soreness. For now, Doyle is considered as day-to-day, so it looks like he'll avoid a trip to the injured list. In the meantime, Jake Cave will bat leadoff and cover right field versus right-hander Edward Cabrera. Doyle is in the middle of breakout campaign, so hopefully he doesn't miss much time. He's hitting .269 with 21 home runs and 63 RBI in 126 games this season. Fantasy managers might want to consider using Cave as a streaming option while Doyle is out. Cave is hitting .281 with seven home runs and 30 RBI against right-handed pitching this season.

Thu Aug 102:04Brenton Doyle Smacks Late-Inning Home Run
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle smacked a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the eighth inning Wednesday to lead the Rockies to a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The home run was Doyle's only hit of the night out of four plate appearances. Doyle took a Hans Crouse hanging breaking ball 431 feet into the bullpen for his 18th long ball on the season. After a lackluster rookie season for the 26-year-old, Doyle is breaking out nicely this year with eight more home runs in about the same amount of at-bats as the 2023 season. His .272 batting average is considerably higher than his .203 average in 2023. He's also right where he was at last year, with 22 stolen bases on the year. Playing in Colorado, Doyle has the potential to finish with a 30-30 campaign with a more than respectable batting average.

Wed Jul 3119:24Brenton Doyle Back In Lineup On Wednesday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) is starting in center field and is batting third for the Rockies in Wednesday's contest against the hosting Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Davis Daniel. A bruised right index finger kept Doyle out of the lineup for the series opener in Anaheim, but the 26-year-old is back in the lineup for the second game of the series and needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups, especially in a solid matchup. Despite not starting on Tuesday, he entered as a pinch-hitter and played two innings in the 10-7 loss. In his second big-league season, Doyle is producing across the board for his fantasy managers with a .273/.335/.473 slash line, .808 OPS, 17 homers, 53 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 103 games. He's gone hitless in his last three games, though, and is hitting .244 (10-for-41) with two homers, two doubles, 11 RBI and 12 K's in 11 games since the All-Star break.

Mon Jul 2900:35Brenton Doyle Leaves Game Early With Finger Contusion
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) left Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants early with a finger contusion. It's a bizarre injury, but seemingly not a serious one as Doyle was deemed day-to-day. Wed Jul 1012:07Brenton Doyle Goes Deep Twice In Losing Effort
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle did his best to carry the offense on Tuesday on the road against the Cincinnati Reds, but it wasn't enough in a 12-6 loss. Doyle finished the game 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk. His other hit was a double. The 26-year-old didn't look too great last month, but he has seriously turned things around so far in July, going 15-for-27 with six home runs, five doubles, 11 RBI, six walks, a stolen base and seven runs scored in eight games to raise his season slash line to .279/.346/.467 with an .812 OPS in his second year in the big leagues. He's added a career-high 13 home runs, 16 doubles and 20 stolen bases in 87 games, making him a must-roster player in all fantasy leagues despite playing for the last-place Rockies. If Doyle can stay healthy in the second half of the season, he has a real shot at 30 homers and 30 steals.
