Wed Aug 2821:26Spencer Arrighetti Dominates Phillies In Seventh Win
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti made a statement in Wednesday afternoon's victory over the hosting Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Banks Park, throwing 7 2/3 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts. Arrighetti was stellar on the road on Wednesday against a vaunted Phillies lineup, taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning and ultimately scattering two hits and four walks for his seventh win of the year. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander endured a tough start to his big-league career, logging a 2.77 ERA, 71 punchouts, 18 walks, and three wins over his last 55 1/3 frames (nine starts) for the Astros. He's closing in on must-start fantasy status going forward.

Fri Aug 2301:20Spencer Arrighetti Bounces Back With Six Scoreless Innings
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti was terrific on Thursday, shutting out the Baltimore Orioles for six innings in a 6-0 win. Arrighetti fanned six O's while allowing just three hits and a walk. The 24-year-old has had his ups and downs this year with control being his biggest issue, but he has walked two or fewer in six straight starts while maintaining strong strikeout numbers. After a bit of shakiness against the White Sox last time out, it was a great sign that the rookie rebounded with one of his strongest starts of the year against a very good Orioles team. Those who held onto Arrighetti through his last start should feel good about it, and if he is available in any standard-size leagues he should be picked up.

Sat Aug 1018:58Spencer Arrighetti Fans 13 On Saturday, Picks Up Win
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti struck out 13 batters in seven innings of work and picked up the win in the Astros' 5-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. Arrighetti improved his record to 5-10 and he now has a 5.14 ERA on the season. The Astros' rookie has now recorded 12+ strikeouts in back-to-back starts. After a rough start to the season, Arrighetti has started to come into better form as of late. His 5.14 ERA is paired with a 4.06 xERA, telling us that positive regression should be headed the 24-year-old's way. As Houston has worked its way back into the lead in the AL West they will take everything they can get from Arrighetti. The right-hander will look to continue his hot streak next Friday when the Astros host the Chicago White Sox. Fantasy managers and DFS managers alike should be sure to target Arrighetti for that matchup with Chicago posting just a 75 wRC+ over the last 14 days, making it a prime matchup for the rookie.

Mon Aug 501:28Spencer Arrighetti Punches Out Career-High 12 Batters
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti had a stellar performance on Sunday, striking out 12 over six one-run innings against the Tampa Bay Rays. He allowed just five hits and two walks. Unfortunately, he took the loss as the Astros were unable to generate any offense. Arrighetti has shown flashes of brilliance in his rookie season, but his lack of control and tendency to get hit hard when things aren't working have his season numbers looking pretty rough. If he can figure it out in the future, his upside is sky-high. For this year though, he should probably only be used as a streamer in favorable matchups or when strikeouts are a big need.
