Sun Apr 11 2010 | 09:54 | Mock optioned to Triple-A |
Nationals optioned RHP Garrett Mock to Triple-A Syracuse. |
With Livan Hernandez pitching Sunday, something had to give in the Nationals' rotation. Scott Olsen will assume the fifth starter role in Mock's absence. |
Fri Apr 9 2010 | 22:25 | Mock makes an early exit vs. Mets |
Garrett Mock allowed two runs over just 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Friday night. |
He was very fortunate to escape with just a two-spot on the board. Mock threw just 44 of 84 pitches for strikes and walked five. He didn't exactly "win" a spot in the rotation this spring, posting a 5.79 ERA over 18 2/3 innings, so if he continues to struggle like this, he could soon give way to Scott Olsen. |
