Sun Jul 6 201411:00Free agent OT McKinnie has money issues
Free agent OT Bryant McKinnie had his car repossessed and is having financial problems.
McKinnie owes his lawyers over $21,000 from a previous matter, and his Infiniti QX56 will be auctioned off in order to pay the tab. It's not the first time McKinnie has been in hot water money-wise. A strip club claimed soon-to-be 35-year-old McKinnie racked up close to $400,000 in unpaid bills. The free agent says he's willing to play right tackle. He simply needs money.

Thu Mar 27 201414:12Report: Miami open to Bryant McKinnie as RT
The National Football Post's Aaron Wilson reports the Dolphins haven't closed the door on re-signing free agent Bryant McKinnie as their right tackle.
Per Wilson, it's "most likely" McKinnie signs somewhere after the draft. Going on 35, McKinnie appeared near the end of the line last season, and has yet to take a visit in free agency. He'd almost certainly have to compete for the right-tackle job in Miami.

Tue Mar 18 201409:35Free agent Bryant McKinnie willing to play RT
Free agent Bryant McKinnie said he's willing to play right tackle.
McKinnie, 35 in September, also said he's willing to compete for a starting job. He's doing anything to try and make himself more appealing to a market that has expressed zero interest in McKinnie to this point. His playing days may be over. McKinnie simply didn't put any good play on film in 2013.

Sat Mar 8 201415:58Dolphins haven't had any talks with McKinnie
The Miami Herald confirms the Dolphins have not had any recent contract talks with free agent LT Bryant McKinnie.
McKinnie was highly ineffective last year and isn't going to be re-signed, as expected. He looked to be near the end of the line with Miami and likely won't require more than a veteran minimum contract. Given his history of weight issues, McKinnie could struggle to find any interest on the open market.

Tue Feb 4 201423:31Bryant McKinnie says he's getting shape
Free agent Bryant McKinnie insists he's "getting (his) weight down."
The fact that this is still an issue for McKinnie should tell you all you need to know about his "market." McKinnie has never been serious about staying in shape, and now going on 35, he's going to receive zero benefit of the doubt in free agency. McKinnie was highly ineffective for both the Dolphins and Ravens last season. It's possible he's reached the end.

Tue Oct 22 201316:19McKinnie to be Dolphins' new left tackle?
The Miami Herald expects the Dolphins to install Bryant McKinnie at left tackle, shifting Jonathan Martin to the right side.
That would send RT Tyson Clabo to the bench. The Dolphins have remained coy, but McKinnie was spending time at left tackle in Tuesday's practice. Speaking to ESPN's James Walker, McKinnie said the blindside was "all he knows." We'd suspect that's where he'll end up, if not in Week 8, then Week 9.

Mon Oct 21 201314:19Dolphins acquire benched LT McKinnie from BAL
Dolphins acquired OT Bryant McKinnie from the Ravens.
The compensation is unclear, but it's almost certainly a day-three pick, likely a conditional one. McKinnie was benched after Week 5 by the Ravens, but is well worth a flier for the Dolphins, who are getting league-worst tackle play that's been derailing GM Jeff Ireland's masterplan. It's quite possible McKinnie will be immediately installed on the blindside, shifting LT Jonathan Martin to the right and Tyson Clabo to the bench. Clabo got humiliated in Sunday's loss to the Bills. Of course, it's also possible McKinnie has nothing left at age 34, and will end up on the bench.

Thu Aug 1 201321:08Bryant McKinnie weighs 356 pounds
Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie revealed he weighed 356 pounds upon reporting to training camp.
It's actually not that heavy for Mount McKinnie, who stands 6-foot-8 and has regularly been listed in the 360-pound range. McKinnie's goal is to get down to 346 before Week 1. The Ravens' O-Line projects as a strength this year with McKinnie on Joe Flacco's blindside, Kelechi Osemele at left guard, Gino Gradkowski at center, Marshal Yanda at right guard, and Michael Oher at right tackle.

Sat Jul 27 201309:42McKinnie couldn't finish practice on Friday
Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie couldn't finish practice on Friday, his first with the team after missing the first day for reporting overweight.
Per beat writer Aaron Wilson, McKinnie was "clearly exhausted at times" and his "pad level was way too high," suggesting the 33-year-old still has "a lot of work to do." McKinnie reported to the team too heavy on Thursday, and insisted he only needed to shed some "water weight." He'll sweat it out shortly.

Fri Jul 26 201314:40Bryant McKinnie practicing at training camp
Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie has resumed practicing at training camp after missing the first day for reporting overweight.
McKinnie insisted he only needed to drop "water weight" when he was held out of the Ravens' first camp practice, and beat writer Aaron Wilson suggests the team was simply trying to make a "point." McKinnie is still in far better condition than he's been for recent training camps. He'll be the Ravens' Week 1 left tackle.

Thu Jul 25 201316:30Bryant McKinnie reports to Ravens overweight
Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie reported to training camp above his prescribed weight and won't practice with the team until he drops some pounds.
This comes ten days after a report came out that McKinnie showed up to offseason workouts in "significantly" better shape than years past. Keeping his weight down has always been an issue for McKinnie, and it doesn't appear that will ever change. The Ravens re-signed the 33-year-old to a two-year deal in May.

Mon Jul 15 201315:54McKinnie showed up to offseason in shape
Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie showed up to offseason workouts in "significantly" better shape than he was "at any point" in last year's training camp.
The Ravens' internal hope is McKinnie will perform for 16 games as he did during Baltimore's four-game playoff run, when McKinnie allowed just two sacks and three quarterback hits in 286 snaps. From left to right, the Ravens' Week 1 O-Line is expected to read LT McKinnie, LG Kelechi Osemele, C Gino Gradkowski, RG Marshal Yanda, and RT Michael Oher. It's a very talented group.

Mon Jun 17 201310:48Ravens pleased with McKinnie's conditioning
The Ravens are satisfied with LT Bryant McKinnie's conditioning.
"He moved really well in (minicamp), as well as he moved at the end of the year last year when he started practicing so well and playing so well," coach John Harbaugh said. "He seems to be very committed. Love the way he's playing and his effort." Going on 34, it appears McKinnie has finally gotten serious about keeping his weight down. As long as it stays that way, he'll protect Joe Flacco's blindside this season.

Mon May 6 201308:46McKinnie's deal includes weight clauses
Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie's new two-year contract includes weight clauses.
As has become customary in the 34-year-old tackle's deals. McKinnie's contract, which is worth up to $7 million, also includes annual workout bonuses. Provided he stays in shape, McKinnie will open 2013 on the blindside, leaving Michael Oher at right tackle and kicking Kelechi Osemele inside to left guard.

Thu May 2 201316:29Ravens sneak in and re-sign Bryant McKinnie
Ravens agreed to terms with LT Bryant McKinnie on a two-year contract.
McKinnie had reportedly been weighing offers from the Dolphins and Chargers on Thursday, but the Ravens were lurking in the tall grass and found a way to get the 34-year-old back under contract. It's just another strong signing for GM Ozzie Newsome this offseason. San Diego could turn its attention to free agent Max Starks, while Miami is likely to roll with Jonathan Martin at left tackle. The Ravens offensive line shapes up like this: LT McKinnie, LG Kelechi Osemele, C Gino Gradkowksi, RG Marshal Yanda, and RT Michael Oher.

Thu May 2 201311:45Bryant McKinnie weighing offers from SD, MIA
A source tells the Baltimore Sun that free agent LT Bryant McKinnie is weighing offers from both the Chargers and Dolphins.
McKinnie holds all the leverage here. Both teams are desperate for left tackle help in a barren market and at age 34, he's likely land with the highest bidder. As of March 27, the Dolphins had $15.7M of cap space while the Chargers had $7.0M left. The Cowboys are even getting involved late, as they've reportedly made an inquiry. McKinnie would presumably play right tackle in Dallas as Tyron Smith is locked in on the left side.

Wed May 1 201319:31Report: Dolphins could sign two tackles
The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports the Dolphins are open to signing free agent LT Bryant McKinnie and a veteran right tackle.
Sure, why not. The Dolphins have made a habit out of being unpredictable this offseason, but it would be quite something for GM Jeff Ireland to sign two veteran tackles after spending much of the offseason talking up second-year pro Jonathan Martin. In this scenario, the veteran right tackle - which would likely be one of Eric Winston, Tyson Clabo or Winston Justice - would presumably serve as a swing tackle, though it's getting harder to predict what Ireland might do next.
