Tue Nov 19 201314:55Broncos sign S Michael Huff
Broncos signed S Michael Huff.
Huff's three-year, $6 million deal with the Ravens was considered a nice bargain for the defending Super Bowl champs, but he struggled to get on the field in Baltimore. When he did, he performed poorly. Huff was waived in October. He'll be mere depth in Denver. Huff's signing is an indication Rahim Moore (leg) is headed to injured reserve. For now, Mike Adams is stepping in at free safety. Perhaps Huff will eventually push him.

Tue Nov 19 201314:20Broncos expected to sign free agent S Huff
The National Football Post's Aaron Wilson reports the Broncos are expected to sign free agent S Michael Huff.
Per Wilson, the Broncos worked out Huff, Tyler Sash and John Boyett on Tuesday. It's a sign FS Rahim Moore (leg) will be placed on injured reserve. Cut by the Ravens last month, Huff struggled mightily in 97 snaps in Baltimore, and wouldn't be a candidate to start in Denver.

Wed Oct 30 201311:06Ravens waive veterans Michael Huff, Spears
Ravens waived FS Michael Huff and DE Marcus Spears.
Billed as high-quality additions to the Ravens defense, both veterans fizzled out badly. Huff hasn't played a defensive snap since Week 4 and was a liability on special teams. Spears was getting outplayed by third-round rookie Brandon Williams. Signed to a three-year, $6 million deal with a $1.5 million signing bonus, Huff finishes his time in Baltimore with six tackles. Even brilliant GM Ozzie Newsome gets egg on his face sometimes.

Free agent DB Michael Huff has scheduled a visit with the Packers.
Huff had a "nice visit" in Dallas, but is going forward with planned trips to the Ravens and Green Bay. Per ESPN Dallas, Huff isn't sure he can wait for the Cowboys to "get their salary-cap situation straight." It sounds like he'll have a new home by the end of the week.

Tue Mar 26 201314:38Michael Huff has 'nice visit' in Dallas
Free agent DB Michael Huff had a "nice visit" with the Cowboys, but is unsure if he can wait for them to "get their salary-cap situation straight."
That would imply Huff has another offer on the table. The Cowboys currently have little more than $100,000 in cap room, but are expected to clear more space in the coming days. Huff will meet with the Ravens this week, and has been in touch with the Packers and Titans.

Mon Mar 25 201309:47Huff will still meet with Ravens
Free agent DB Michael Huff is still scheduled to visit the Ravens.
Huff is meeting with the Cowboys on Monday, but is expected to escape without a contract because of their salary-cap situation. He'll visit Baltimore "later this week." Huff would be part of the Ravens' plan to replace Ed Reed on the back line.

Mon Mar 25 201308:17Cowboys hosting Michael Huff for visit Mon.
The Cowboys are hosting free agent DB Michael Huff for a visit on Monday.
Huff joins LB Justin Durant and S Will Allen in checking out North Texas on Monday. The Cowboys are looking at Huff as a safety. A signing couldn't be made until Big D reaches a long-term agreement with Tony Romo or Anthony Spencer, as it has just $102,000 in cap space at the moment.

Tue Mar 19 201320:50Ravens expected to meet with Michael Huff
The Ravens are expected to meet with free agent DB Michael Huff "within the next five days."
The Ravens, Packers, Cowboys and Titans have all reportedly "reached out" to Huff since his March 12 release, but Baltimore would be his first known visit. Huff would have a real chance to start at safety for the Ravens after injuries forced him to make 14 appearances at cornerback for the Raiders last season.

Mon Mar 18 201317:39Teams showing interest in Michael Huff
The Ravens, Packers, Cowboys, and Titans have reportedly all reached out to free agent DB Michael Huff since his March 12 release.
Baltimore may be particularly interested in Huff; the Ravens currently have no viable Week 1 starting safeties on their roster and GM Ozzie Newsome loved Huff coming out of Texas in 2006. Huff turned 30 years old earlier this month.

Tue Mar 12 201319:59DB Michael Huff part of OAK's salary purge
Raiders released DB Michael Huff.
The versatile defensive back was set to make $4 million, and due a $4 million roster bonus. Parked at corner last season, he was supposedly shifting back to safety in 2013. Corners make more money, but we'd assume Huff will shop himself as a safety, with his versatility being a sticking point. Oakland is going to be historically bad in 2013.

Fri Feb 22 201318:46Raiders to move Michael Huff back to safety
Raiders coach Dennis Allen confirmed that Michael Huff will stay at safety moving forward.
Huff was forced to make fourteen 2012 starts at cornerback due to Oakland's shortage at the position, but he's moving back to free safety for 2013. "At the end of the day, his natural fit is at safety," opined Allen. "But I think he'll do anything we need him to do to give us a chance to be successful."

Thu Dec 6 201221:37Huff, Mitchell exit TNF with injuries for OAK
Raiders DBs Michael Huff (wrist) and Mike Mitchell (neck) left Thursday night's game against the Broncos in the first half.
Huff, who has been playing mainly cornerback this season, was thought to have been benched for ineffectiveness, but that's not the case apparently. Mitchell was in the game for SS Tyvon Branch, who left with an ankle injury. Oakland possesses the most banged-up secondary in the league.

Fri Nov 30 201218:06Michael Huff 'definitely' a safety
Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie says DB Michael Huff's future is "definitely" at safety, and not cornerback.
Huff has been mostly playing corner since September, but he'll apparently be shifted back to safety in 2012. Huff signed a four-year, $32 million deal as a safety in July 2011. He has no guaranteed money remaining beyond this season, however. Huff has held his own at corner in the absence of Ron Bartell.

Thu Nov 8 201217:58Huff to remain at corner for Ravens game
Michael Huff will remain at cornerback for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
With Ronald Bartell (shoulder) expected to return this week, there was speculation that Huff could be moved back to safety. However, it sounds like the Raiders will go with Huff and Bartell as the starting corners moving forward. Pat Lee will be demoted from the starting lineup.

Mon Sep 24 201210:42Michael Huff playing corner for Raiders
The Raiders have temporarily moved Michael Huff to left cornerback.
Huff has been a free safety throughout his career, but injuries to Shawntae Spencer and Ronald Bartell have the Raiders scrambling. It's a secondary for fantasy owners to attack weekly. Ben Roethlisberger went off for 384 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions on Sunday.

Wed Sep 19 201215:28Michael Huff seeing snaps at cornerback
Raiders FS Michael Huff is seeing snaps at cornerback in this week's practices.
Former coach Hue Jackson toyed with moving Huff back to his college position before his firing. The move speaks to how far Huff's play has slipped at safety, and just how banged up the Raiders are at cornerback.

Wed Mar 7 201219:03Raiders rework deals of Seymour, Huff
The Raiders have restructured FS Michael Huff and DT Richard Seymour's contracts to clear nearly $12 million in salary cap space.
Seymour's deal was overhauled, essentially giving him a brand new five-year, $37.5 million contract that is unlikely to last beyond 2012. (His salary shoots from $925,000 in 2012 to $7.5 million in 2013.) Huff morphed his $8 million in 2012 salary and roster bonus into a base salary of $700,000 plus a "signing" bonus of $7.3 million. Both players will be with the Raiders in 2012.
