Mon Jun 9 201417:13Cousins, Meredith working as Bucs starters
Oniel Cousins and Jamon Meredith are working as the Buccaneers' first-team guards at OTAs.
The hope is Carl Nicks (toe) will be ready by Week 1, but there are no guarantees. Pro Football Focus graded Cousins as its No. 71 guard among 81 qualifiers last season, while Meredith came in 64th. Guard play is a concern for Doug Martin's fantasy outlook, in addition to top-70 draft pick Charles Sims.

Sun Mar 16 201412:50Bucs sign G/T Oniel Cousins
Bucs signed G/T Oniel Cousins, formerly of the Browns, to a one-year contract.
Cousins, 30 in June, started the first four games of 2013 at right guard for the Browns but was thoroughly abused in pass protection, surrendering one sack and 20 hurries across 295 snaps. He was sent back to the bench and played just 27 snaps the rest of the season. Cousins will compete for a reserve role in Tampa.

Tue Sep 10 201309:45Browns will stick with Cousins
The Browns will stick with Oniel Cousins as their right guard for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Cousins played so poorly against the Dolphins in Week 1 that he deserved to get benched. The problem is the Browns have no depth with Shawn Lauvao (ankle) sidelined and Jason Pinkston (ankle) on short-term IR. Cousins is going to get embarrassed in Week 2 by Haloti Ngata and friends. He committed four penalties in Week 1.

Wed Aug 28 201309:57Oniel Cousins to start at right guard
The Browns are expected to start Oniel Cousins at right guard Week 1.
Thanks to high-ankle sprains sustained by both Shawn Lauvao and Jason Pinkston, the Browns are desperate inside. Cousins has started just five games in his NFL career, and just one at guard. It's a concern for an otherwise underrated unit.

Thu Mar 15 201217:28Browns re-sign offensive lineman Cousins
Browns re-signed G/T Oniel Cousins.
Claimed off waivers from the Ravens in August, Cousins got into just four games last season. He won't be guaranteed a roster spot in 2012.

Mon Aug 29 201120:31Browns claim G/T Cousins off waivers
Browns claimed G/T Oniel Cousins off waivers from the Ravens.
The Browns have pass protection problems at right tackle with Tony Pashos, and that isn't an issue Cousins will solve. He's still a worthwhile pickup for Cleveland, which lacks talented depth on the line. Cousins also has some experience at guard, though he won't push Shaun Lavoao out of the lineup.

Sat Aug 27 201110:21Ravens part ways with Oniel Cousins
Ravens waived G/T Oniel Cousins.
Just three years removed from being a third-round pick, Cousins could never get it together at tackle, and obviously didn't show enough at guard during training camp. Jah Reid will now most likely open the season as Baltimore's right tackle, while Marshal Yanda will man right guard.

Mon Aug 22 201111:01Cousins to stick at guard
Coach Jim Harbaugh said that Oniel Cousins' move to guard is permanent.
Cousins could never crack the lineup at tackle, so perhaps he'll be able to use his 6'4/315 better at guard. If the Ravens move Marshal Yanda to their troublesome right tackle spot, Cousins could step in as a starter at right guard.

Sun Aug 14 201114:48Cousins finally kicked inside to guard
Ravens OT Oniel Cousins kicked inside to guard for Saturday's practice.
"Maybe he is suited for that position," coach John Harbaugh said. "We'll find out." They might as well. Cousins started the preseason opener and took his usual beating at right tackle. They should know by now that he's not the answer, so third-rounder Jah Reid will get as many reps as possible.

Fri Jul 8 201114:22Oniel Cousins may lose roster spot in BAL
Ravens reserve OT Oniel Cousins will enter training camp on the roster bubble.
Cousins says his "goal is to be the starting right tackle," but concedes he "said that last year." The No. 99 pick in the 2008 draft simply hasn't panned out, earning just four career starts and struggling in all of them. If rookie Jah Reid beats him out, Cousins will be looking for a new home come September.

Mon Feb 28 201115:46Ravens extend Cousins original pick tender
Ravens extended restricted free agent RT Oniel Cousins an original pick tender.
Cousins, a third-round pick in 2008, will be safe at this level after continuing to struggle in spot appearances last season. The Ravens would've liked Cousins to step up as a starting right tackle after Jared Gaither's injury, but his shoddy pass and run blocking forced RG Marshal Yanda outside.

Tue Dec 14 201018:37Oniel Cousins moves into starting lineup
Oniel Cousins has moved into the starting lineup at right tackle, pushing Marshal Yanda to right guard.
Cousins is atop the official depth chart this week, so it looks like more than just a one-week move. Chris Chester has lost his right guard job as the Ravens attempt to fix a rushing attack ranked just 31st in the league in yards per carry at 3.6.

Sat Sep 11 201008:30Cousins to start in place of Gaither vs. Jets
Ravens RT Oniel Cousins is expected to start Monday night against the Jets in place of injured RT Jared Gaither (back).
The team doesn't sound overly concerned, as RT Tony Moll is also available should Cousins struggle. Ray Rice remains a strong RB1 play.

Fri Sep 3 201020:06Oniel Cousins resumes practicing fully
Ravens RT Oniel Cousins (concussion) has resumed practicing fully.
Baltimore won't have a good right tackle situation until Jared Gaither returns, but Cousins can only be an upgrade over third-stringer Tony Moll, who was filling in. The Ravens open against the Jets on Monday Night Football.

Mon Aug 30 201014:51Cousins' concussion symptoms subsiding
The Ravens still aren't sure if OT Oniel Cousins (concussion) will be cleared to play in the preseason finale.
"That's a game that he really needs to play," said coach John Harbaugh. "He's just missed so much with [throat procedure in] the OTAs and now again in training camp." Cousins' symptoms are "subsiding," but it's a bad sign that he's still experiencing periodic headaches a week and a half later.

Wed Aug 25 201012:11Cousins targeting preseason finale
Ravens RT Oniel Cousins (concussion) expects to play in the season finale if he doesn't make it back for this week's game.
Not so fast. Cousins is still experiencing symptoms, including migraines, from the concussion sustained a week ago. The Ravens are sure to play this cautiously even with Jared Gaither (back) out indefinitely.

Fri Aug 20 201011:28Cousins has mild concussion
The Ravens confirmed that RT Oniel Cousins suffered a mild concussion on Wednesday.
Cousins isn't expected to play on Saturday, but will be fine for the regular season. He's Jared Gaither's primary backup.

Wed Aug 18 201013:19Cousins carted off with head injury
Ravens RT Oniel Cousins was carted off the field Wednesday with an apparent concussion.
Cousins is filling in as the starter with Jared Gaither (back) out for the remainder of the preseason. Third-stringer Tony Moll is now being pressed into service as the starting right tackle.

Sat Aug 14 201008:28Cousins struggling, Yanda to fill in?
According to Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun, RT Oniel Cousins struggled in pass protection in the Ravens' preseason opener.
Preston also suggests that RG Marshal Yanda should start seeing time at the position. The sudden movement along the offensive line is due to the absence of Jared Gaither (back spasms). The Ravens are one of the few teams in the NFL that have offensive line depth.

Tue Aug 10 201008:33Cousins ready to start at right tackle
Ravens T Oniel Cousins appears to be in line to start at right tackle in Thursday's preseason opener.
Cousins has looked good since returning from surgery to remove a cyst from his esophagus. With Jared Gaither still dealing with back problems, Cousins will hold down right tackle, and it's not out of the question that he could hang on to the job indefinitely if he plays well.
