Fri Feb 20 201519:57Dunlap agreed to four-year
Dunlap agreed to a four-year, $28 million contract with the Chargers on Friday, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The 29-year-old Dunlap played a full 16 games last season for first time in his career (all starts), and performed at a high level. In fact, many felt he was a Pro Bowl snub, but he was rewarded Friday in the form of a new $28-million deal. He will continue to protect Philip Rivers' blindside at left tackle for the foreseeable future.
Tue Nov 12 201319:29Bolts uncertain of King Dunlap's status
Updating an earlier item, Chargers LT King Dunlap has been diagnosed with a strained neck, but the team is uncertain if he suffered his third concussion of the season in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.
"Once we sit down and figure out all the details of everything and the doctors make the ruling," coach Mike McCoy said Monday. "We will definitely look at what is best for King Dunlap's future and not just our football team." At the very least, it sounds like Dunlap will miss Week 11. D.J. Fluker filled in on the blindside against the Broncos, with Jeromey Clary manning right tackle.

Chargers LT King Dunlap (concussion) has resumed running and lifting.
It's finally some progress for Dunlap, who hasn't played since sustaining a serious concussion against the Titans in Week 3. Backup Michael Harris has handled himself fairly well, giving up one sack and five quarterback hurries over the last two weeks. Dunlap's Week 6 status is unclear right now.

Chargers LT King Dunlap (concussion) is not expected to play in Week 4.
DeMarcus Ware is licking his chops. Philip Rivers' blindside will now be manned by Mike Harris, who was an absolute turnstile as a rookie last year. At least D.J. Fluker is back at right tackle, though he struggles in pass pro.

Sun Aug 11 201313:26Chargers still haven't settled on left tackle
The Chargers still haven't settled on a starting left tackle.
Outside of arguably Green Bay -- whose left-tackle battle was injury-induced -- San Diego is the only team in the league yet to settle on its quarterback's blind side protector entering the second week of preseason games. King Dunlap has taken the majority of first-team reps. Max Starks is his competition.

Mon May 6 201309:37King Dunlap the Bolts' left tackle?
The Union-Tribune San Diego's Kevin Acee expects the Chargers to begin the season with King Dunlap at left tackle.
Acee believes journeyman Kevin Haslam could "perhaps" get a shot, but doesn't consider Mike Harris a candidate on the blindside after he got brutalized in place of Jared Gaither last season. A replacement-level talent, Dunlap has made just 19 starts in 52 career appearances. It's probably going to be another long year for declining veteran Philip Rivers.

Coach Mike McCoy declined to name King Dunlap his starting left tackle.

Tue Mar 12 201317:33Chargers ink OT King Dunlap
Chargers agreed to terms with OT King Dunlap, formerly of the Eagles.
Dunlap is not the answer to the Chargers' blindside woes. He was routinely beaten as a pass protector while in Philadelphia, but he's much better depth than undrafted free agent Michael Harris provided in 2012.

Wed Nov 14 201216:16Eagles move Dunlap back to LT; Kelly to RT
The Philadelphia Daily News is reporting that King Dunlap will move back to LT, Danny Watkins will be at RG, and Dennis Kelly will play RT going forward.
This move gets the struggling Demetress Bell off the field. Bell yielded five QB pressures and two sacks in the Eagles' Week 10 loss to the Cowboys. Kelly didn't fare much better, also giving up five QB pressures with one converted for a sack against Dallas. Eagles LG Evan Mathis says this is a stronger grouping, but we're not confident they will be able to turn things around and effectively protect Nick Foles this Sunday against the Redskins.

Eagles LT King Dunlap (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Cardinals.
Dunlap pulled a hamstring last week against the Ravens. Demetress Bell filled in and did a fine job, so he will get the start this week. If Bell performs well, Dunlap could be relegated to back-up duties upon his return.
