Tue Jun 17 201411:30FA G/T Bruce Campbell trying out for Jets
Free agent G/T Bruce Campbell is participating in Jets minicamp on a tryout basis.
The Redskins signed Campbell in March, but the deal was nixed due to a failed physical. He had rotator cuff shoulder surgery last fall. 26-year-old Campbell has never started an NFL game. He's athletic but isn't very good at football.

Fri Mar 14 201400:17Bruce Campbell visits Giants on Thursday
Free agent G/T Bruce Campbell visited the Giants on Thursday.
The visit comes the same day that Campbell's Redskins deal fell apart due to a failed physical. The former Al Davis special would be a pure depth signing for a team that's rebuilding its offensive line.

Thu Mar 13 201416:58Redskins deal voided with Bruce Campbell
The Redskins' one-year deal with G/T Bruce Campbell has been voided due to a failed physical.
It's probably for the best, seeing as Campbell isn't an NFL-caliber lineman. Campbell had a rotator cuff surgery last fall, which apparently never healed properly. Perhaps he'll get another look if he has the shoulder re-repaired.

Wed Mar 12 201412:47Redskins sign G/T Campbell
Redskins signed T/G Bruce Campbell to a one-year contract.
Why? A former Combine superstar, Campbell has made zero impact in the NFL unless you count up all the negatives. The Redskins were the only team on his trail. Campbell is still only 25, so perhaps the Skins believe their coaching staff can tap his theoretical potential. He has zero career starts in four seasons.

Sat Aug 24 201313:49Panthers waive/injure OT Campbell, cut nine
Panthers waived/injured OT Bruce Campbell and WR/KR Kealoha Pilares.
Campbell tore his rotator cuff earlier this month and was fully expected to miss the season, which he will. A workout warrior at the 2010 Combine, Campbell has appeared in just 19 games in three seasons. Pilares injured his knee in Thursday night's preseason game. Both will spend the season on injured reserve.

Mon Aug 12 201317:21Bruce Campbell likely lost for season
Panthers T/G Bruce Campbell is out indefinitely with a torn rotator cuff that will require surgery.
He's likely out for the season. Campbell, acquired in last year's Mike Goodson trade, appeared in five games without a start last season and was not in the mix for a first-team job in this training camp. He should hit I.R. shortly.

Wed Jan 30 201301:09Panthers OT Campbell triggers escalator
Panthers OL Bruce Campbell's 2013 salary jumped from $575,000 to $630,000 based on rookie-deal incentives.
Campbell appeared in five games for the Panthers in 2012 after being acquired from the Raiders in exchange for RB Mike Goodson last offseason. Campbell, if you remember, was a workout warrior at the 2010 Scouting Combine. He's never started a game and remains a project.

Wed Oct 26 201113:22Raiders move Bruce Campbell back to tackle
The Raiders have moved Bruce Campbell from guard back to tackle.
A workout wonder and 2010 fourth-round pick, Campbell has played nine snaps on offense this season, two at left guard and seven as a tight end in jumbo packages. Still just 23 years old, Campbell remains purely a project.

Mon Sep 12 201121:15Raiders declare inactives for Monday Night
Raiders declared OG Bruce Campbell inactive for Monday's Week 1 game against the Broncos.
This confirms reports that Campbell was nowhere close to taking over as the team's starting right guard. WR Louis Murphy, TE Kevin Boss and S Michael Mitchell were all declared out prior to Monday's contest. WR Derek Hagan was unable to crack a deep wide receiver rotation. TE Davis Ausberry and LB Bruce Davis round out the inactives.

Wed Aug 17 201118:18Bruce Campbell returns to Raiders practice
Raiders OG Bruce Campbell has resumed practicing after missing the first two weeks of camp with a knee injury.
Beat writer Steve Corkran notes that Campbell doesn't look 100 percent, but he's fighting for a roster spot, let alone a starting job. The Raiders would have liked for Campbell to emerge as their left guard. Instead, the athletic former fourth-round pick is well behind the eight ball three weeks before the season.

Sat Mar 12 201111:49Campbell not likely to be shifted to tackle
OG Bruce Campbell is not likely to start at right tackle in 2011.
Most expect Campbell to be a starter along Oakland's offensive line next season, but it will most likely be at his natural position of guard. Campbell has the raw talent to play anywhere, but it would be imprudent to start him at tackle after he appeared in just 10 games as a rookie in 2010, starting none.

Fri Mar 4 201112:16Al Davis wants Campbell in starting lineup
Citing a Raiders employee, the Oakland Tribune confirms that owner Al Davis wants OG Bruce Campbell in the starting lineup in 2011.
Davis fell in love with Campbell after an exceptional showing in the Combine last year. He remains high on the former Terp after a rookie season spent learning the ropes at guard. Expect Campbell to take his lumps as a first-time starter, but he certainly has the talent to excel if motivated.

Thu Mar 3 201121:30Campbell expected to start in 2011
Bruce Campbell is expected to start "somewhere on the offensive line" next season.
The most obvious spot is left guard as Robert Gallery's replacement, though right guard (for Cooper Carlisle) and right tackle (for Langston Walker) are also possibilities. Campbell was essentially red-shirted as a developmental project last year. Owner Al Davis was said to be peeved at former coach Tom Cable for not giving Campbell an audition in the season finale.

Wed Jan 5 201108:38Davis unhappy about Campbell, McFadden
Raiders owner Al Davis was reportedly unhappy with Tom Cable for not playing rookie OG Bruce Campbell and Darren McFadden (turf toe) in the Week 17 finale.
Cable's specialty is offensive line, so it's hard to question his judgment on a project like Campbell being ready for his first game action. Despite the Raiders' 31-10 victory at Arrowhead Stadium, Davis was in a sour mood afterward. Asked if 8-8 was a good finish, he shot back, "If that's the world you live in."

Fri Jul 9 201016:07Raiders sign rookie OL Bruce Campbell
Raiders signed fourth-round T/G Bruce Campbell to a multi-year contract.
Thu May 27 201012:27Campbell struggling with transition
Rookie Bruce Campbell admitted he is struggling with the transition from a college left tackle to right guard at Raiders OTAs.
"Now I'm on the inside with a lot of help," said Campbell. "People would say it's easier, but I don't see it being easier right now." Once Campbell gets comfortable, the guard spot should be an easier spot to learn. He still projects as a tackle in the NFL.

Sat May 15 201013:59Bruce Campbell switched to guard
Coach Tom Cable indicated that fourth-rounder Bruce Campbell has been switched to guard so he can get playing time as a rookie.
Right guard Cooper Carlisle's play has fallen off the past two years and left guard Robert Gallery is coming off back surgery, so Campbell could be valuable insurance. While he's insanely athletic, he's still far too raw to handle edge rushers as a rookie. It's a smart move by Cable.

Sun May 2 201008:47Campbell working at guard
Fourth-round pick Bruce Campbell is working as a guard at the Raiders' minicamp.
Campbell still projects as a right tackle, but the Raiders are exposing him to the guard spot so he can get extra reps and be ready in case of emergency. There's still a chance Campbell could see starts as a rookie with the Raiders' offensive line in shambles.
