Fri May 16 201412:18Free agent DT David Carter trying out for TEN
Free agent DT David Carter is participating in Titans rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
Carter is a former sixth-round pick out of UCLA by the Cardinals. He appeared in all 32 games for then-DC Ray Horton's Cardinals from 2011-2012. Horton now runs the defense in Tennessee. Carter has 29 career tackles and one sack.

Cowboys signed DL David Carter.
DT Landon Cohen was waived in a corresponding roster move. A 2011 sixth-round pick of the Cardinals, Carter appeared in all 16 games last season, making four starts. Although he's just a depth signing, Carter should see snaps along the Cowboys' wafer thin defensive line.

Fri Aug 30 201314:46Cardinals issue first waive of final cuts
Cardinals waived/released DL David Carter, OG Chilo Rachal, S Jonathon Amaya, WR Charles Hawkins, WR Dan Buckner, C Adam Bice, G/C Senio Kelemete, TE Alex Gottlieb, S Curtis Taylor, LB Colin Parker, and OLB Zack Nash.
A previous item claimed WR Kerry Taylor was cut, but he was not. We regret the error. Carter is the most surprising cut of this group. He played extensively last season, but had no ties to Arizona's new coaching staff.

Wed Aug 17 201109:56Carter backing up Williams at NT
Cardinals sixth-round rookie David Carter has been installed as Dan Williams' backup as nose tackle.
Carter is "just" 6'5/300, shaped more like a defensive end than a nose tackle. Perhaps that's why he slipped in the draft. The Cardinals sound excited about Carter's progress. "Just seems every time we have practice or any kind of situation, he shows up," coach Ken Whisenhunt said.
