Kilgore (leg) is expected to be sidelined for at least half of the 49ers' training camp, CSN Bay Area reports.
Kilgore was already placed on the PUP list prior to training camp but hopes to be back in action before the season gets underway after undergoing a follow-up procedure on his left leg. He is currently the favorite to win the starting center position out of camp, health permitting.
Wed Aug 6 201413:52Kilgore front-runner in competition for starting center position
Kilgore is the front-runner in the competition for the starting center position, CSN Bay Area reports.
The 49ers drafted rookie Marcus Martin with the expectation that he would win the starting center job, but an ankle injury has hampered him during the off-season and Kilgore has apparently leapfrogged him on the depth chart.
Tue Apr 15 201413:1149ers C Daniel Kilgore has charges dropped
49ers C Daniel Kilgore had the public intoxication charges against him dismissed last week.
Kilgore was booked in January after he was "staggering down a sidewalk" in his hometown in Tennessee. The 49ers didn't seem too concerned and inked him to a three-year contract extension in late February. Kilgore is fully expected to be given every opportunity to replace Jonathan Goodwin at center.

Thu Feb 27 201415:1849ers sign C Kilgore to three-year extension
49ers signed G/C Daniel Kilgore to a three-year contract extension through 2017.
CSN Bay Area first reported the sides were close to an agreement. A 2011 fifth-rounder, Kilgore had been considered the most likely candidate to take over for free agent Jonathan Goodwin. This sets it in stone. Kilgore has appeared in all 16 games each of the past two seasons, but has just 170 career snaps to his name. He's mostly been used as an extra blocker on offense. The 49ers should be in the market for a back-up plan, perhaps in the form of a draft pick.

Fri Feb 7 201414:00Daniel Kilgore expected to start at center
The Sacramento Bee expects fourth-year OL Daniel Kilgore to succeed free agent Jonathan Goodwin as the 49ers' starting center in 2014.
Goodwin is a free agent. Center is a popular position for the 49ers in mock drafts, but beat writer Matt Barrows sounds confident San Francisco will use its premium picks elsewhere. Kilgore has been effective in spot duty the past two seasons, seeing (limited) playing time at all three interior line spots.

Fri Jan 31 201412:3149ers OL Kilgore arrested last weekend
49ers OL Daniel Kilgore was arrested for public intoxication early last Sunday morning.
Kilgore and another male were "staggering on the sidewalk" in Kingsport, Tenn. at 2:18 AM Sunday morning and were subsequently arrested "for their safety and the welfare of the public." Kilgore was a fifth-round pick of the 49ers out of Appalachian State in 2011. He's a key reserve and will likely be in the competition for center duties if free agent Jonathan Goodwin isn't re-signed.

Mon Oct 29 201221:1049ers reserve OL Kilgore out with concussion
49ers reserve OL Daniel Kilgore left Monday night's game against the Cardinals with a concussion and will not return.
Kilgore was injured on the opening kickoff. San Francisco already listed Joe Looney as an inactive, so they are down to veteran Leonard Davis as the only offensive line back-up. Kilgore was a fifth-round pick in 2011.

Wed Mar 14 201218:13Daniel Kilgore likely to be Niners' RG
Daniel Kilgore is expected to compete for the 49ers' starting right guard job this season.
The Niners allowed veteran Adam Snyder to bolt for the division-rival Cardinals, leaving a hole at right guard. They traded up in the fifth round to get Kilgore last April. It's an area of need for the Niners.

Wed Jul 27 201117:4249ers sign rookie Kilgore
49ers signed fifth-round G/C Daniel Kilgore to a four-year contract.
Kilgore finished his career at Appalachian State as a left tackle, but he's 6-foot-3, 308 with short arms. Most teams projected him as a guard, and the 49ers project Kilgore to center. It's a major need area in San Francisco.
