The Patriots have signed Reisner to their practice squad, ESPN.com reports.
Reisner will give the Patriots some added depth to consider behind the team's three currently rostered tight ends: Rob Gronkowski, Michael Hoomanawanui and Tim Wright.

Reisner signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2011 before being waived ahead of last season and spending the year with the Jaguars. He caught five passes for 50 yards in five games. Reisner will compete for a roster spot.

Reisner is expected to miss six weeks, but the Jags didn't want to mess around with making him a weekly inactive. It's to the point of the season where they might as well use their "return" tag on somebody. Reisner is a deep reserve. It's possible he'll never be activated.

The reserve tight end suffered the injury in Sunday's loss. With Marcedes Lewis (calf) also out for Week 6, the Jags will start Clay Harbor against the Broncos. Reisner has just five catches on the year.
