Thompson will miss the rest of Sunday's game against the Lions with a neck injury, ESPN's Jeff Legwold reports.
With C.J. Anderson briefly sent to the locker room for a concussion test, Thompson had three carries for 11 yards in the first half. Thompson hurt his neck and was later ruled out for the rest of the night.
Sun Sep 13 201520:45Thompson failed to get offensive touch Sunday against Ravens
Thompson failed to get an offensive touch Sunday against the Ravens.
Starter C.J. Anderson suffered a sprained toe during the game, though he was able to play through it. However, backup Ronnie Hillman finished with the same number of carries, which could give him the inside track to start Thursday against the Chiefs if Anderson doesn't recover in time. If that's the case, Thompson figures to be the backup and get a decent number of touches.
Mon Aug 31 201516:09Thompson in line to be 3rd running back this season behind C.J
Thompson is in line to be the No. 3 running back this season behind C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman, and ahead of Montee Ball, ESPN.com reports.
Because Thompson plays on special teams, he has the upper hand on the third-string role ahead of Ball, who began last season as the starter. While Thompson's roster spot appears to be secure, his fantasy value is still limited as long as Anderson and Hillman are healthy.

Thompson (hip/knee) is inactive for Sunday's playoff game against the Colts.
With Thompson out Sunday, Jeremy Stewart will serve as the Broncos' third running back behind C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman.

Thompson (hip/knee) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Colts, the Broncos' official site reports.
Thompson practiced fully all week and should be available Sunday, though assuming he suits up, he'll work in a reserve capacity behind C.J. Anderson.
Wed Jan 7 201516:49Thompson (hip/knee) full participant at Wednesday's practice
Thompson (hip/knee) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice.
Thompson should be available for Sunday's playoff game against the Colts, but his fantasy upside is limited these days, with Ronnie Hillman back in the Broncos' backfield mix, along with C.J. Anderson.
Sun Dec 28 201415:07Thompson inactive for Sunday's game against Raiders
Thompson is inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Thompson was listed as probable for the game, but his deactivation is presumably more directly linked to the return to action of fellow RB Ronnie Hillman on Sunday.

Thompson (hip/knee) is listed as active for Monday's game against the Bengals.
With Ronnie Hillman still out, Thompson is once again in line to work in a complementary role behind C.J. Anderson on Monday.

Thompson (hip/knee) is questionable for Monday's game against Cincinnati.
Thompson was able to log two limited practices to close out the week, but both he and Ronnie Hillman (foot) are uncertain for Monday's game. C.J. Anderson (probable, ankle) is locked into the lead runner role, either way.
Fri Dec 19 201419:53Thompson (knee
Thompson (knee, hip) returned to a limited practice Friday, the Denver Post reports.
More Thompson's status Saturday, but his return to the practice field Friday bodes well for his chances of being able to work in a complementary role behind C.J. Anderson on Monday against the Bengals.
Thu Dec 18 201418:18Thompson (hip
Thompson (hip, knee) did not practice Thursday, ESPN.com reports.
We'll revisit Thompson's status Friday, but given that he has been seeing limited touches over the past couple of weeks while working behind C.J. Anderson, he's only an option in deeper formats.

Thompson (knee) had four carries for 14 yards Sunday against the Chargers.
The Broncos relied heavily on C.J. Anderson once again, as he rushed 29 times for 85 yards, leaving few opportunities for Thompson to make an impact. Making matters worse, Ronnie Hillman (foot) is expected back in Week 16 against the Bengals, which will only further limit Thompson's touches.

Thompson (knee) had four carries for a team-high 63 rushing yards and one catch on two targets for 14 receiving yards during Sunday's win over the Bills.
Despite leading the team in rushing yards, Thompson finished with 17 fewer carries than starter C.J. Anderson, who still got a bulk of the workload despite suffering an ankle injury in the first half and having his ankle heavily taped in the second. As long as Anderson is healthy, Thompson's fantasy upside is fairly limited, though he's only one injury away from being a potential fantasy difference-maker.

Thompson had 10 carries for 39 yards in Sunday's 29-16 win over the Chiefs.
Thompson merely spelled C.J. Anderson on early downs, as Anderson handled the vast majority of snaps on his way to 162 rushing yards. Thompson isn't much more than a handcuff, and even that's on very rocky footing, with Ronnie Hillman (ankle) and Montee Ball (groin) both candidates to return before the end of the season.

Thompson (knee) had five carries for 33 yards Sunday against the Dolphins.
While Thompson's 6.6 YPC average was a very solid number, C.J. Anderson dominated the backfield touches, rushing 27 times for 167 yards and a touchdown. Thompson will continue to get backup touches with Ronnie Hillman (ankle) and Montee Ball (groin) sidelined, but Anderson will likely get a vast majority of the touches.

Thompson (knee) caught his only target for a five-yard gain, and he did not get a carry during Sunday's loss to the Rams.
With Montee Ball knocked out in the first half after re-injuring his groin, Thompson appeared likely to get at least a few carries, but that wasn't the case, as the Broncos went extremely pass-heavy, rushing only nine times, all of which went to starter C.J. Anderson. With Ball likely to miss a few more weeks with the new injury, and Ronnie Hillman possibly sidelined for up to six weeks with a foot injury, Thompson figures to get a shot at some more carries in Week 12, though production won't be easy to come by against a Dolphins defense allowing the eighth-fewest rushing yards per game this season.

Thompson (knee) had four carries for eight yards Sunday against the Raiders.
Thompson appeared to be competing with C.J. Anderson for backup carries behind Ronnie Hillman, but Anderson had a breakout performance Sunday, rushing 13 times for 90 yards, while catching four passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. However, with Montee Ball (groin) expected back in Week 11 against the Rams, Thompson may be heading to the inactive list unless the Broncos decide to carry four running backs.

Thompson (knee) had two carries for six rushing yards and one catch on one target for six receiving yards Sunday against the Patriots.
Ronnie Hillman led the backfield once again, accounting for 63 yards and two touchdowns on 17 touches, while fellow backup C.J. Anderson had 51 yards on six touches. Thompson isn't likely to make much of a fantasy impact with Hillman healthy, and he figures to move down the depth chart even further when Montee Ball returns, which could be as soon as Week 10 against the Raiders if he can return to practice next week.

Thompson had seven carries for 24 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's 35-21 win over the Chargers.
Two of Thompson's carries were one-yard touchdowns while lined up as a fullback in front of Ronnie Hillman, and four of the carries came on a clock-killing drive late in the fourth quarter. The rookie's excellent size may get him a bit of extra work at the goal line, but Hillman has far and away been the Broncos' lead back in Montee Ball's (groin) absence. Hillman has also gotten most of the goal-line snaps at the halfback spot, and he turned in another strong game Thursday night.

Thompson (knee) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Chargers.
In Montee Ball's continued absence, Thompson is once again slated to work behind Ronnie Hillman in Denver's backfield in Week 8.
