Fri Sep 616:15Luis Robert Jr. Returns To Lineup On Friday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) is starting in center field and is batting second on Friday against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Nick Pivetta at Fenway Park. Robert is back in action following an off day on Thursday after he was removed from Wednesday's contest early with tightness in his right hamstring. The 27-year-old has always provided intriguing power/speed upside, but he's given fantasy managers very little else on the worst team in baseball in 2024. The Cuban outfielder has provided 14 homers and 21 stolen bases in 319 at-bats, but it's also come with a .219 average, .274 on-base percentage and just 34 RBI. In 11 career at-bats against Pivetta, Robert has hit .182 with an RBI. Since the All-Star break, Robert has hit .203/.232/.304 with a .536 OPS, just three home runs, 11 RBI, five walks and 61 strikeouts in 39 games.

Wed Sep 421:09Luis Robert Jr. Leaves Wednesday's Game Early With Hamstring Injury
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) left Wednesday's game early due to a tight hamstring, according to Vinnie Duber of CHGO Sports. It appeared the outfielder suffered the injury sometime when running the bases in the sixth inning. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to any updates regarding the star outfielder before their game on Friday evening against the Boston Red Sox. Before the injury, Robert was in the midst of a 4-for-31 slump after posting a strong .381/.385/.548 line through the early part of August. Even though the 27-year-old has had a disappointing season, fantasy managers playing in five-outfielder leagues should still slot him back into their lineups for the remainder of the summer.

Mon Sep 212:15Luis Robert Jr., Andrew Vaughn Sitting On Monday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert and first baseman Andrew Vaughn are both out of the starting lineup on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. It appears to be a normal day of rest for both players to start a new week. Robert had started each of the team's last seven games. Zach DeLoach is drawing into the White Sox's lineup in right field and will bat sixth, while Gavin Sheets will handle first base and will bat cleanup against Orioles right-hander Corbin Burnes. Corey Julks is serving as the designated hitter and will bat in the two-hole. Sheets is probably the most attractive DFS sleeper for his power, but he hasn't recorded a hit in six career at-bats against Burnes. Robert has an attractive power/speed combination for fantasy managers (14 homers and 21 steals), but he's hitting just .219 (68-for-311) on the year and is on the worst team in baseball.

Sat Aug 1709:08Luis Robert Jr. Homers Twice, Drives In Four Runs
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. had a big day at the plate in Friday's 5-4 win over the Astros. The 27-year-old went 4-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored in the contest. It was a much-needed breakout that comes on the heels of a brutal 22-game stretch in which he went 12-for-89 (.135) with just one home run. It has been a disappointing season for the Cuban after he made the All-Star team and won a Silver Slugger award in 2023, now with a .212-14-31-30-17 line through 66 games after missing two months of the season with an injury. The good news is that he's collected a hit in three straight games and August is his second-best month batting average and OPS-wise over the course of his career so this run could have legs, although the bad news is that September is by far his worst.

Mon Aug 1218:25Luis Robert Jr. Taking A Seat On Monday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the New York Yankees. The star outfielder will get a breather here after going 2-for-35 in his first eight games of August. It has been a tough year for Robert but hopefully he can finish the year on a strong note. Dominic Fletcher will cover center field and bat seventh versus right-hander Luis Gil on Monday.

Wed Jul 3112:24Luis Robert Jr. Sitting Against Royals
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is out of the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting division-rival Kansas City Royals. With Robert getting a breather for the White Sox, Dominic Fletcher will make the start in center field and will hit eighth against Royals right-hander Brady Singer. It looks like a normal day of rest for the 26-year-old power hitter on Wednesday after the White Sox chose not to deal him at Tuesday's trade deadline. The Cuban slugger has missed more time this year due to injury and is batting just .222 (46-for-207) with a .294 on-base percentage, but he's also contributed 12 home runs and 15 stolen bases for the worst team in baseball. As long as Robert is healthy, his power/speed combination makes him relevant in all fantasy formats. Fletcher is hitting .179 (14-for-78) on the year and is still searching for his first homer in 2024.

Tue Jul 3010:08Garrett Crochet More Likely To Be Traded Than Luis Robert Jr.
New York Post baseball columnist Jon Heyman on Tuesday reported the Chicago White Sox are more likely to trade pitcher Garrett Crochet instead of outfielder Luis Robert Jr. Both have been highly rumored to be moved before Tuesday's 6:00 pm ET deadline, yet Heyman feels the White Sox are more apt to move Crochet, who is second in the majors with 160 strikeouts. However, Crochet has demanded a contract extension before being moved, while questions about his workload have been debated. Both names are going to be hot on Tuesday, so fantasy managers of both Crochet and Robert should brace for major news.

Tue Jul 2315:28Luis Robert Jr. A Perfect Fit For The Phillies?
ESPN's Jeff Passan believes Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. would be a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Phillies. In his latest column, Passan feels the National League East leaders lack an "impact center fielder," and Robert would be the ideal choice. Robert is hitting .232/.306/.475 with 11 homers, 23 RBI, and 23 runs scored over 47 games. He is a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen base attempts. The subject of trade rumors, if Robert were to arrive in Philadelphia, he would give the Phillies one of the most imposing lineups in the league and would also see his numbers increase, which is good news for fantasy managers.

Mon Jul 822:34Luis Robert Jr. Unlikely To Be Traded
General managers around the league are skeptical as to whether any team will meet the Chicago White Sox's high asking price for oft-injured center fielder Luis Robert Jr. However, the market for right-handed starting pitcher Erick Fedde, who is 6-3 on the year with a 3.13 ERA, is expected to be robust leading up to the trade deadline at the end of July. Robert received his first All-Star selection last year, when he hit .264/.315/.542 with an .857 OPS, 38 home runs, 80 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 145 games, the first time in his career he'd played more than 98 games in a single season. But the 26-year-old right-handed slugger caught the injury bug already in 2024 and has disappointed to the tune of a .227/.301/.496 slash line with 10 homers, 19 RBI and six thefts in 37 games. Chicago may prefer to wait until the offseason or next summer to trade Robert when his value is higher if he can stay healthy the rest of 2024.

Mon Jul 819:19Luis Robert Jr. Out Against Twins
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. heads to the bench for Monday's series opener against the visiting division-rival Minnesota Twins. With Robert getting a breather, Andrew Benintendi, Corey Julks and Gavin Sheets will start across the outfield in Chicago from right to left, respectively. Tommy Pham was scheduled to start in center and bat leadoff, but he was scratched due to a dental issue. The 26-year-old Robert will get a day off after starting in each of the team's last 12 games. Robert has so far been a fantasy bust in 2024 after setting career-highs in homers (38) and stolen bases (20) in 2023 while earning his first All-Star selection. Unsurprisingly, though, he's missed time with another injury this year and is currently slashing .227/.301/.496 with 10 home runs, 19 RBI and six stolen bases in 37 games. He should still be rostered in all fantasy formats for his power and speed, and Robert could see an increase in value if he's traded at the deadline to a contender.

Wed Jul 300:56Luis Robert Jr. Has Big Offensive Day Tuesday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. did a bit of everything offensively in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Guardians. Robert Jr. went 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run, four RBI, a strikeout, and a stolen base. The 26-year-old turned on a sixth-inning Carlos Carrasco slider, putting it just over the left-field wall to tie the game. Robert Jr. has provided power but has been disappointing overall, slashing .215/.286/.512 with 10 HR, 19 runs scored, 18 RBI, and four stolen bases in 133 plate appearances. He missed time with a right hip flexor strain as well but stayed healthy in 2023 and put together a great season. His fantasy ceiling is quite high, so fantasy managers should continue to put their trust in him if they can afford it.

Mon Jul 122:45White Sox Considering Hanging Onto Luis Robert Jr.
The Chicago White Sox have had several teams contact them about center fielder Luis Robert Jr., but given his struggles this year, they are considering hanging onto him into at least the winter since he's under team control through 2027. Robert is hitting just .205 (24-for-117) with 14 RBI and 18 runs scored in 31 games, but he's also managed nine home runs despite missing a big chunk of time due to another injury. The 26-year-old Cuban slugger finally managed to stay healthy in 2023 and made his first All-Star team by hitting 38 home runs, driving in 80 and stealing 20 bags in 145 games. Robert still has the potential to be a beast if he can just stay on the field, so the White Sox would be crossing their fingers that he can stay healthy going into next season so that they can potentially trade him next summer (or even this winter) at his highest value.

Sat Jun 2916:34Luis Robert Jr. Homers On Saturday Against The Colorado Rockies
Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. homered on Saturday in a game against the Colorado Rockies. The 470-foot blast off Cal Quantrill was his ninth home run of the season. Robert Jr. also scored a run as well. He is hitting .206 on the season with nine home runs, 13 RBI, three stolen bases, and 18 runs. The star outfielder has struggled with the bat over the last month, with only 16 hits in 89 plate appearances, good for a .203 batting average. He has hit six home runs in June, so the power has been there for Robert Jr. even as the batting average has suffered in 2024.

Thu Jun 2721:44Luis Robert Jr. Cranks Eighth Homer In Win
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-3 in Thursday afternoon's win over the visiting Atlanta Braves, cranking his eighth home run of the season. Robert launched a solo homer off Braves left-hander Chris Sale to left field, putting the White Sox on the board in the first inning of Thursday's 1-0 shutout victory. The 26-year-old star center fielder has been one of the main subjects of trade rumors this summer, and he would likely benefit greatly from a fantasy perspective if he were moved from the last-place ChiSox in July. Robert now has just 12 RBI in 28 games on the South Side this year, slashing a lukewarm .204/.281/.485 with 15 runs scored and three stolen bases over 103 at-bats.

Sat Jun 807:00Luis Robert Homers In Win Over Boston
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert went yard in a 7-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Robert wound up going 1-for-4 with the homer and a strikeout in the winning effort. Robert's solo shot came off Boston starter Cooper Criswell in the first inning, a blast that traveled 430 feet and had an exit velocity of 111.7 MPH. Robert is now hitting .205 with four homers, six runs, six RBI, and one steal across 44 at-bats in 2024. He will look to go yard again on Saturday as the Red Sox send right-hander Brayan Bello to the mound.

Wed Jun 500:40Luis Robert Jr. Homers In Tuesday's Return
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) did not waste time to contribute offensively in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs. Robert Jr., who had been sidelined since early April with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain, went 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run, and a strikeout. The 26-year-old has just 33 plate appearances in 2024, but he is slashing a respectable .250/.273/.594 with three HR, five RBI, and a stolen base. Robert Jr.'s power-speed skills have made him a high-end fantasy option throughout his career, but injuries have often prevented him from reaching his full potential. He should be plugged into fantasy managers' lineups as long as he is able to play.

Sat Jun 100:26Luis Robert Jr. On Track To Return Tuesday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) is tracking toward a return in time for Tuesday's series opener against the crosstown-rival Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Working his way back from a strained right hip flexor, Robert is entering the final stages of his recovery and should be back available to fantasy managers and the last-place White Sox during the first week of June. While Robert's batting just .105 (2-for-19) across six outings on his minor-league rehab assignment, the 26-year-old All-Star slugger presents five-category fantasy upside when healthy and will be a welcome return to all rosters. Veteran Tommy Pham is slashing a solid .301/.348/.431 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 19 runs scored, and three stolen bases over 123 at-bats as the primary leadoff man on the South Side this season, but his streaming appeal is expiring.

Thu May 2318:22Luis Robert Jr. To Begin Rehab Assignment Tuesday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) will start a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. The talented 26-year-old recently started appearing in game action again in the Arizona Complex League. Robert has been out since April 6 with a hip-flexor strain and has dealt with injuries in the past. He is still worthy of a stash in all fantasy formats as he possesses significant upside even with the unappealing team around him. Robert will surely need a few rehab appearances to get back into the swing of things, but the expectation is that he will return to the team in early June.

Tue May 2122:51Luis Robert Jr. To Start Playing In Games Wednesday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) is scheduled to play five innings on Wednesday in a minor-league rehab game in the Arizona Complex League. Robert will then take Thursday and play this weekend in Arizona before going on a rehab assignment with a higher affiliate, according to manager Pedro Grifol. It's likely that the White Sox will let the 26-year-old right-handed slugger play in plenty of rehab games before they consider bringing the oft-injured outfielder back to the majors. He's been out since April 6 with a Grade 2 right hip-flexor strain, but Robert should be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues because of his power/speed upside when he's healthy. Even without a setback, the best bet is that Robert won't return until early June. The Cuban outfielder was a first-time All-Star in 2023, hitting .264 with a career-high 38 home runs, 80 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

Mon May 2012:21Luis Robert Jr. Expected To Play In Rehab Games This Week
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) is expected to play in live games at the team's spring training complex in Glendale, Ariz., at some point this week. "We anticipate some game action later this week," general manager Chris Getz said. "He seems to have turned the corner and is trending well." The White Sox are bringing Robert along slowly as he deals with an injury similar to the one that caused him to miss more than three months in 2021. Once the 26-year-old begins playing in games, he'll be much closer to a return to Chicago's lineup, but the White Sox aren't going to rush the oft-injured outfielder back. There is no current timetable for his return, but the Cuban slugger should be stashed in an injured list spot in all fantasy formats. Robert was a first-time All-Star in 2023 but was hitting .214 (6-for-28) with two homers and four RBI in seven games at the time of his injury.
