Tue Jul 2319:16Mariners Call Up Jonatan Clase, Cade Marlowe
The Seattle Mariners recalled outfielders Jonathan Clase and Cade Marlowe from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday. Marlowe is starting in right field for the M's and is hitting ninth against the visiting Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jose Soriano. Marlowe, a left-handed hitting 27-year-old, made his big-league debut in 2023 and hit .239 (21-for-88) with three homers, three doubles, two triples, 11 homers and four steals in his first 34 games. He hit .235 with 13 homers for Tacoma this year, and he and Clase, the team's No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline, could be battling for playing time with Julio Rodriguez (ankle) on the 10-day injured list. Clase, a 22-year-old switch-hitter, has looked overmatched in his MLB debut in 2024, going 8-for-41 (.195) at the plate with no homers, a double, three RBI, three swipes and a 14:2 K:BB in 43 trips to the plate and 19 games played.

Tue Aug 8 202319:27Cade Marlowe Resting Against Padres
Seattle Mariners rookie outfielder Cade Marlowe is taking a day off on Tuesday against the visiting San Diego Padres. With Marlowe on the bench, fellow rookie Dominic Canzone is starting in left field and batting seventh against Padres right-hander Nick Martinez in the series opener. The left-handed-hitting Marlowe will remain interesting in deep-mixed leagues until Jarred Kelenic returns from a broken foot. The 26-year-old has made an impact for the M's in his first 14 major-league contests, going 10-for-36 (.278) with a .381 on-base percentage, two home runs, two doubles, a triple, six RBI, two stolen bases and six runs scored in 42 plate appearances.

Fri Aug 4 202319:28Cade Marlowe Sitting Against Halos
Seattle Mariners rookie outfielder Cade Marlowe will start Friday's game against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels on the bench despite hitting a game-winning grand slam for the team on Thursday. The former 20th-round pick in 2019 has been impressive for the Mariners since making his big-league debut on July 20. He's gone 10-for-30 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple, six RBI, two stolen bases and six runs scored in 12 games (nine starts). As a left-handed hitter, he'll take a seat against Angels lefty Reid Detmers. Dylan Moore is starting in left field and is batting eighth in the order. The 26-year-old Marlowe has become interesting in deep-mixed and AL-only leagues, as he should see decent playing time against righties with Jarred Kelenic out with a fractured foot.

Thu Jul 20 202314:20Cade Marlowe Gets The Call To The Big Leagues
Seattle Mariners prospect Cade Marlowe has been promoted to the big leagues from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday. He will take the roster spot of outfielder Jarred Kelenic who was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left foot fracture. The 26-year-old has appeared in 69 games with Tacoma this season, hitting .255 with 11 home runs, 25 stolen bases, and a .793 OPS across 319 trips to the plate. He fared better at Triple-A in 13 games last season, hitting three homers with six steals and an .869 across a 60 plate-appearance sample. The lefty-swinging outfielder should see a good chunk of time against right-handed pitching in Kelenic's absence and should at least be a solid source of steals for interested fantasy managers.
