Thu Aug 2900:52Wyatt Langford Homers, Plates Three Wednesday
Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford homered in Wednesday night's win over the hosting Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field, recording three RBI in the victory. Langford plated three runs with a towering home run to left field off White Sox left-hander Sammy Peralta, opening the scoring for the Rangers 3-2 in the fourth inning. It's been an up-and-down season for the 22-year-old top prospect, who is slashing .245/.313/.372 with eight dingers, 53 RBI, 49 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases in 392 at-bats in his rookie year for Texas. After being one of fantasy's fastest-rising players back during spring training, Langford will be a post-hype sleeper candidate for 2025, barring a meteoric finish to 2024 that would otherwise drive his cost back up on draft day next year.

Wed Aug 2119:04Wyatt Langford Comes Up With Clutch Hit
Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford came up clutch for his team during Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The rookie outfielder smacked a line-drive walk-off single against right-hander David Bedner to break the scoreless tie. Langford also singled and stolen a base earlier in the contest. The 22-year-old was slow out of the gate, but has collected eight hits over the last week. His full season numbers aren't great, but fantasy managers looking for an extra boost should look towards Langford while he's hot at the plate.

Mon Aug 516:36Wyatt Langford Back For The Rangers
Texas Rangers rookie outfielder Wyatt Langford (back) is back in the team's starting lineup on Monday against the visiting division-rival Houston Astros and right-hander Hunter Brown, serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth. Back tightness kept Langford out of the lineup on both Saturday and Sunday, but he's back now and can be reinserted into starting fantasy lineups. The 22-year-old hasn't had a ton of counting stats for fantasy managers in his first major-league season, but he's been decent overall and is currently slashing .245/.309/.375 with six home runs, 44 RBI, nine stolen bases and 37 runs scored in 86 games played. Since the All-Star break, he's hitting only .200 (11-for-55) with a homer, four doubles, four RBI, five walks, 13 strikeouts and a stolen base in 14 games.

Sun Aug 413:24Wyatt Langford Remains Out On Sunday
Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (back) is absent from the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox. This marks the second game in a row that Langford has missed due to back tightness. It's worth noting that manager Bruce Bochy said Langford could play if necessary, but they wanted to give him another day to rest. That being said, Langford should be back in the lineup by early next week. Ezequiel Duran will cover left field and bat seventh versus right-hander Nick Pivetta. Fantasy managers should only be without Langford for another game or two.

Ezequiel Duran will play Langford's usual left-field spot and bat seventh in his place. On the season, Langford is hitting .245 with six home runs, 44 RBI, nine stolen bases, and 37 runs. This appears to be just a standard day of rest for the rookie, who should be back in the lineup for the series finale on Sunday afternoon.

Tue Jul 2307:09Wyatt Langford Plays Hero On Monday
Texas Rangers rookie outfielder Wyatt Langford put together a big game in Monday's victory versus the Chicago White Sox. The outfielder went 2-for-5 with a stolen base, run and one RBI. The RBI would be a big one, as it came in the bottom of the tenth inning off Steven Wilson to send the crowd and Rangers home with a victory. Langford started the season ice-cold, but since returning from a right hamstring strain on May 28, he has really picked things up and shown why he was a preseason favorite of many entering the 2024 season. For the year, Langford is now hitting .254 with five home runs, 42 RBI and nine stolen bases in 284 at-bats. Langford is clicking on all cylinders and could be a big part of managers success in the second half of the season.
