Chapman spent the 2014 season with Bridgeport of the Atlantic league, unaffiliated with any club. Over 53.6 innings, he posted a 3.86 ERA with a 58/24 K/BB ratio. The 27-year-old will give it another go in the Brewers' system in 2014. |

According to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, right-hander Jaye Chapman has agreed to a contract with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the independent Atlantic League. |
Chapman was hoping to find a minor league contract this winter or spring, but it never came about for him. The 26-year-old right-hander missed a large majority of the 2013 season with a hip injury. He'll now try to reestablish himself in independent ball. |

Chapman, 26, missed most of the 2013 season due to a hip issue, but he's healthy now and has two workouts scheduled for this week. He'll soon sign a minor league deal with someone and is hoping to get an invitation to spring training. He posted a 3.75 ERA over 14 appearances for the Cubs in 2012. |
