A dark horse to claim an Opening Day bullpen gig with the Rockies after he was claimed off waivers from the Cardinals in November, Rondon failed to impress in his limited spring opportunities, yielding four hits and a walk over 2.1 innings. He was able to use his biting fastball to pick up four strikeouts, which does give him a dose of upside should be able to harness his control with more regularity. Expect him to open the year at Triple-A Albuquerque. |
