According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, the Brewers have re-signed INF-OF Erick Almonte to a minor league contract. |
The Brewers have yet to make an official announcement. Almonte, 33, made Milwaukee's Opening Day roster this season, but didn't return to the major-league level after he suffered a concussion when he was hit in the face with a thrown ball during batting practice in late-April. |

Almonte was originally scheduled to head to extended spring training this weekend, but the Brewers are apparently pleased enough with his progress to move along his return time-table. The setback he suffered on Monday has apparently not thrown too big of a kink in things. Almonte has been out since late April, but it now appears he could come off the disabled list within the next 7-to-10 days. |

It was rather scary when Almonte was hit in the face with a thrown ball Monday for the second time, but the good news is that he hasn't experienced a recurrence of his recent concussion symptoms. There's no current timetable for his return. |

He was cleared for physical activity two weeks ago, but Monday's setback could put him on the sidelines for a bit longer. |
