RHP Mike Wright's early-season struggles continued in Wednesday's game vs. the Red Sox. He allowed four homers and six runs on seven hits in just 2 2/3 innings. Wright's got a strong fastball and can mix in some good off-speed stuff but keeps running into trouble in different ways and hasn't given the Orioles what they've hoped for from him. "I'm pitching in the best league in baseball right now and I'm leaving pitches up," Wright said. "So (four homers and six runs) was the result."

The outing pushed Wright's ERA to a woeful 5.45 as he turned in yet another poor outing. He was actually in line for a loss before the Orioles exploded for 12 runs over the last three innings to take him off the hook. He may continue to get regular turns, but is not likely to be of any help to fantasy teams down the stretch.

Wright took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk over four innings while striking out four.

He had a tough matchup against the Blue Jays in his return to the big league rotation, and unsurprisingly Wright wasn't up to the task. After throwing 80 pitches Saturday he likely won't have any restrictions in his next start Friday, at home against the Royals.

Wright is expected to be capped at around 60 pitches in Saturday's start, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports.

After being activated from the DL on Friday in advance of Saturday's game, the Orioles will ease Wright back into action, making him a tough play in daily leagues.

After a successful final rehab start Tuesday at Triple-A, Wright has been activated and named the starter for Saturday's game in Toronto. Wright hasn't pitched at the major league level since July 31, and his last start came back on June 19. He holds a 4.99 ERA across 30.2 innings on the season.

Per Kubatko, Wright could be a candidate to start Saturday's game, though he would be doing so on just three days rest after throwing a 65-pitch rehab start at Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. Wright has been on the DL since early August due to a left calf strain, and he hasn't started a major league game since June 19.
