Sat Jul 26 201400:51Hector Sanchez pulled after foul tip off mask
Hector Sanchez was removed from Friday's game against the Dodgers after taking a foul tip off his mask.
Sanchez looked to be noticeably woozy while sitting in the dugout the next half inning before Buster Posey replaced him behind the dish. He'll undoubtedly be run through the standard concussion protocol, so don't expect to see him back in the Giants lineup for at least the next few days.

Wed May 28 201410:49Hector Sanchez (head) cleared for action
Hector Sanchez has been declared fit for action after taking a foul tip off the mask Monday.
"He took a pretty good shot," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "I thought I was going to have to take him out then. He knew the situation and inning and (number of) outs. He got the OK to finish the game." While Sanchez has been cleared to play, he admitted to feeling "a lot of dizziness" Monday and is concerned about the number of foul tips he's taken off the mask. "I have to think about it," he said. "Almost all of my hits are in the head. It's something that's happened to me my whole career."

Sun May 18 201400:07Hector Sanchz reaches four times
Hector Sanchez had three of the Giants' six hits and one of their two walks Saturday in the shutout loss to the Marlins.
Sanchez is 13-for-31 this month, but he didn't add to his exceptional total of 16 RBI in 63 at-bats in this one. He's getting more playing time with Brandon Belt hurt, but probably still not as much as his recent performance deserves.

Hector Sanchez hit a grand slam in the 11th inning -- his second home run of the game -- and the Giants outlasted the Rockies for a 12-10 win on Wednesday.
The teams combined for 22 runs and 29 hits, with Sanchez accounting for four of those runs on one swing. Getting the start for Buster Posey behind the plate, Sanchez also added a solo homer in the eighth inning. They were his first two home runs of the year, and his five RBI more than doubled his total heading into the game.

Sat Mar 22 201400:19Hector Sanchez has two hits in win over A's
Hector Sanchez went 2-for-3 in Friday's 3-0 victory over the Athletics in Cactus League action.
The 24-year-old has always displayed significant offensive potential, but with Buster Posey entrenched behind the plate just hasn't been able to get enough playing time to be fantasy relevant. He could see additional at-bats this season serving as Brandon Belt's backup at first base.

Wed Mar 12 201420:15Sanchez could see action at 1B this season
Hector Sanchez could see some time at first base this season.
Sanchez started Wednesday's game at first base, and Giants manager Bruce Bochy liked what he saw. "It's a nice option to have if we want to get Hector in the game and Buster (Posey) is behind the plate," Bochy said. "He's earned another look over there, I'll say that." Brandon Belt is the primary first baseman, of course, but Sanchez could be a backup or emergency option. Sanchez should also see some time behind the plate on Posey's days off.

Tue Mar 19 201320:02Hector Sanchez may not be ready for opener
Giants manager Bruce Bochy stated his concern on Tuesday over Hector Sanchez's (shoulder) availability for Opening Day.
Sanchez has been dealing with a shoulder issue for the majority of spring training and isn't progressing quickly enough. Due to the fact that it's a recurring issue, the Giants will probably err on the side of caution and not rush the young catcher back into the swing of things. Look for Guillermo Quiroz to serve as the backup to Buster Posey for the first few weeks of the season if Sanchez is unable to get on track.
