Mon Sep 9 201322:39Carlos Torres gives up four homers in loss
Carlos Torres was tagged for six runs in four innings by the Nationals on Monday.
Denard Span, Ryan Zimmerman, Jayson Werth and Tyler Moore all took him deep. Torres had pitched well in his previous couple of starts, but he was never a very good bet in NL-only leagues. Of course, given their lack of arms, he should finish the season in the Mets rotation regardless of how he performance.

Thu Aug 29 201317:11Torres holds Phils to one run in win Thursday
Carlos Torres yielded one run over 6 2/3 innings Thursday in a win over the Phillies.
Torres, who took the place of the injured Matt Harvey in the starting rotation, held the Phillies to just four hits and no walks while notching six strikeouts. The 30-year-old now owns a fine 2.77 ERA and 40/7 K/BB ratio in 55 1/3 innings over four starts and 23 relief appearances this season. He has a found a niche as a swingman with the club and could be worth a look in NL-only fantasy leagues the rest of the way.

Sun Jul 28 201317:35Carlos Torres crushed for 8 runs in loss
The clock struck midnight on Carlos Torres on Sunday, as he was crushed for eight runs on nine hits over three innings in a lopsided loss to the Nationals.
He struck out two and walked one. Torres replaced Shaun Marcum in the Mets' rotation earlier this month after allowing just one run over 15 2/3 innings while boasting a 14/2 K/BB ratio as a reliever. He surrendered just two runs over 11 innings in his first two starts to enter Sunday's outing with a 0.94 ERA. Washington's onslaught swelled Torres' ERA to 3.13. The 30-year-old righty has never had any sustained success in the big leagues and remains solely an NL-only option.

Tue Jul 23 201322:28Carlos Torres stays hot, Mets beat Braves 4-1
Carlos Torres allowed one run over six innings in the Mets' 4-1 victory over the Braves on Tuesday.
Torres has been terrific all season and continued it on Tuesday, giving up seven hits and two walks while allowing just the one run. He struck out six in the outing, his first win of the season. He's got a 0.94 ERA and 26/4 K/BB in 28 2/3 innings this year. He just recently moved into the rotation, but there's no reason to think he won't stay for the near future. He'll start against the Nationals on Sunday in Washington, D.C.

Sat Jul 13 201323:17Carlos Torres pitches well in first start
Carlos Torres pitched well in his first start for the Mets on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits over five frames in a no-decision against the Pirates.
Torres racked up five strikeouts in the game without issuing a free pass. He left in line to earn the victory, but the Mets' bullpen was unable to hold on to the advantage. The 30-year-old righty has never had any sustained success in the big leagues, and shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a matchup play in fantasy leagues.
