Tue Sep 13 202217:00Tim Anderson Cleared To Ramp Up Baseball Activities
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (hand) followed up with a hand specialist and has been cleared to ramp up his baseball activities immediately. If he can avoid any setbacks after having left hand surgery on Aug. 6, Anderson could potentially return to the White Sox's starting lineup at some point next week. There's very little time for the 29-year-old to contribute the rest of the way for fantasy managers, but he should remain stashed everywhere. The two-time All-Star was hitting .301/.339/.395 with six home runs, 25 RBI, 50 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 351 plate appearances over 79 games before his injury. The White Sox signed veteran Elvis Andrus to be their everyday shortstop with Anderson on the shelf.

Sun Sep 11 202214:56Tim Anderson Seeing A Hand Specialist On Tuesday
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (finger) is seeing a hand specialist on Tuesday. Anderson, who underwent surgery to repair a tear in the sagittal band of his left middle finger on August 11, has yet to begin playing catch or swinging a bat. The hope would be that the specialist on Tuesday would clear Anderson for both activities. There is still no timetable for his return but perhaps he can rejoin the surging White Sox in late September.

Tue Aug 9 202219:12Tim Anderson Will Undergo Surgery
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (hand) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. The organization announced that Anderson will undergo surgery to repair the torn ligament in his left hand. The expectation is that Anderson is going to be sidelined for the next six weeks. A tough blow to the White Sox with Anderson hitting over .300 on the season with six homers and 12 stolen bases. Leury Garcia started at shortstop during their first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday. Possibly, he continues seeing more starts while Anderson is sidelined. However, it's unlikely any replacement is going to have the kind of value that Anderson offers the team.

According to a tweet from Bally Sports and Stadium's Russell Dorsey on Tuesday, Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (hand) reportedly "will be out 4-6 weeks with a torn ligament in his hand." Dorsey also noted in his tweet that "surgery is a possibility" for the shortstop. The shortstop is enjoying another strong season at the plate, hitting .301 with a .339 on-base percentage, six home runs, and 13 stolen bases in 351 plate appearances so far.

Sun Aug 7 202212:06Tim Anderson's Suspension Reduced To Two Games
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson's three-game suspension for making contact with an umpire last week has been reduced to two games, and he's expected to begin serving the suspension on Sunday against the Texas Rangers. He'll also miss Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals. Make sure to remove Anderson from your fantasy lineups on Sunday and Tuesday. In Anderson's absence from the lineup on Sunday, Leury Garcia will handle the 6 and bat eighth against Rangers right-hander Spencer Howard. Fantasy managers in DFS formats should be able to find better options than Garcia, who is batting just .209/.233/.272 with three long balls, 18 RBI, 31 runs scored and one stolen base in 254 at-bats in 2022.

Sat Jul 30 202218:51Tim Anderson Suspended Three Games
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has been suspended three games for making contact with an umpire during Friday night's game against the Oakland Athletics. The incident occurred after Anderson took exception to a strike call by home plate umpire Nick Mahrley in the seventh inning, after which Anderson was thrown out of the game but continued arguing, seemingly bumping into Mahrley. Anderson has appealed the suspension, so he will stay in the White Sox lineup until a decision is made. Keep an eye on Anderson and if his suspension is upheld, make sure you have a backup plan ready.

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson will start on the bench for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians. Anderson is getting a normal day of rest, and fantasy managers should get him back for Game 2 of the double dip later in the day. He went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a strikeout to kick off the second half of the season on Friday, and Anderson is now hitting a cool .313/.353/.417 with six home runs, 24 RBI, 45 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 278 at-bats this year as one of the better fantasy shortstops out there. Leury Garcia is starting at the 6 and hitting eighth against Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie. Garcia, who is hitting just .205 with two home runs on the year in 229 at-bats, is a low-upside DFS target.

Sun Jun 12 202212:53Tim Anderson To Begin Rehab Assignment Tuesday
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (groin) is scheduled to start a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, according to manager Tony La Russa. Anderson has been out since he suffered a right groin strain on May 30, but there's a chance he's back by next weekend if everything goes well on his rehab assignment. The 28-year-old should remain stashed in all fantasy formats and remains a must-star whenever he's playing. In 163 at-bats before his injury, Anderson was hitting a stellar .356/.393/.503 with an .896 OPS, five home runs, 19 RBI, 24 runs scored and eight stolen bases. Sun Jun 5 202213:36Tim Anderson Starting To Run
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (groin) has started to run during his rehab work as he continues to recover from a strained groin, which he suffered on May 30. Beat writer Daryl Van Schouwen said that Anderson "ran at least one sprint of about 120 feet in the outfield just now, not at top speed but maybe 75-80 percent" prior to Sunday's contest against Tampa Bay. Van Schouwen also noted that while the sprint was encouraging, Anderson's lateral movement will be the key to his recovery. There is still no exact timetable for the star shortstop's return but he could be back later on in June, barring any setbacks.

Tue May 31 202221:35Tim Anderson Hopeful To Return In Three Weeks
Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa hopes shortstop Tim Anderson (groin) will return in three weeks. The 28-year-old was placed on the injured list on Tuesday after exiting Sunday's game early with a groin injury. He will miss three weeks and most likely go on a rehab assignment before returning to the team's active roster. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Anderson's progress as more of the timeline will be known once the shortstop ramps up his activity. Danny Mendick will handle shortstop duties while Anderson is sidelined. Mendick is a speculative add in deep-league formats after slashing .267/.313/.467 across 13 games in 2022.

Sun May 29 202219:28Tim Anderson Placed On Injured List
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (groin) has been placed on the injured list. The young infielder was forced out of Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. After further evaluation, Anderson will head to the injured list due to a groin issue. This is a shame considering Anderson was off to a hot start this season. The hope is that Anderson won't need more than the minimum stay on the injured list. Fantasy managers should know more information within the next few days.

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson's one-game suspension for making an obscene gesture toward fans in a game in Cleveland on April 20 has been reduced to just a fine, according to a source familiar with the situation. Anderson appealed the league's suspension and won. He was suspended for the first three games this season after making contact with an umpire late last year, but Anderson also appealed that decision and had the suspension reduced to two games. The 28-year-old is hitting a cool .330 with four home runs, 10 RBI, 15 runs scored and four stolen bases in his first 24 games this year, and he's a must-star in fantasy anytime he's on the field. Fri Apr 22 202221:06Tim Anderson Receives One-Game Suspension
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was suspended for one game by MLB on Friday. Anderson made an obscene gesture towards fans in Cleveland during his team's loss to the Guardians on Wednesday and will be forced to sit out a game as punishment. The Chicago infielder plans to appeal the punishment and will be able to play for the White Sox in the meantime until he can meet with the league. It is hard to see MLB overturning the suspension considering it was caught on camera, but Anderson will give it a shot. Fantasy managers rostering Anderson will surely be able to withstand being without the star shortstop for one game whenever his suspension takes place.

Thu Mar 31 202221:03Tim Anderson Suspended For Two Games
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson will be suspended for the first two games of the 2022 season. The suspension is a result of an altercation that happened late last season.
