Navarro was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Navarro has split his time between the majors and Triple-A thus far, but his .394/.429/.576 batting line was enough to earn him another chance with the big league club. The Angels sent Grant Green back to Triple-A to open up a spot for him on the 25-man roster.

Navarro was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The Angels needed a fresh arm after the bullpen was forced to go nine innings in the last two games alone, and Navarro was a logical choice for a demotion. Navarro's been used sparingly (15 at-bats), and has done little with his opportunities (three hits, three strikeouts). Cam Bedrosian was recalled to take his spot on the roster.

Navarro's primary role on the club is a backup to Albert Pujols, but his versatility earned him a start in left field against the Mariners on Apr. 8. It's hard to imagine the 28-year-old will be anything more than a reserve player at this point in his career, but he could be worth a roster spot in AL-Only leagues if Pujols has to miss time.
