Carpenter threw a scoreless seventh inning to claim his 12th hold of the season Wednesday vs. the Dodgers.
Jordan Walden's return from the disabled list in June has bumped Carpenter from the designation as the Braves' top setup man he enjoyed earlier this season, making his holds more infrequent these days. He's helped supplement his value to some degree with 54 strikeouts over 43.2 innings, but the lack of holds and a 3.92 ERA and 1.44 WHIP probably aren't enough to give him fantasy value outside of the deepest of NL-only leagues.
