Tue Aug 16 202211:23Jorge Polanco Injured Monday
Minnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said that second baseman Jorge Polanco (knee) left Monday's game early after he "banged his knee up pretty good on a slide" at home plate. Tim Beckham came off the bench to replace Polanco and started a game-ending double play. Before departing, Polanco went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in the 4-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Although the 29-year-old's injury didn't seem too serious, fantasy managers should check back on Tuesday to see if Polanco is back in the starting lineup. Polanco is hitting only .235 on the season, but he also has a useful .342 on-base percentage, 15 home runs, 55 RBI, 51 runs scored and three stolen bases for the Twins in 349 at-bats.

Tue Jun 28 202217:16Jorge Polanco Activated And Starting In Game 2
The Minnesota Twins activated middle infielder Jorge Polanco (back) from the injured list on Tuesday, and he's starting at second base and batting fifth in Game 2 of a doubleheader against Cleveland Guardians left-hander Konnor Pilkington. Polanco landed on the injured list on June 17 with lower back tightness, but he never ended up going on a minor league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old is hitting .245/.340/.389 overall with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 28 runs scored and three stolen bases in 58 games this year, but fantasy managers will be hoping he can pick up where he left off in June, when he was hitting .325 (13-for-40) with two homers and seven RBI in 11 games before his injury.

Fri Jun 17 202216:02Jorge Polanco Heading To IL, Alex Kirilloff Returning
Minnesota Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco (back) will go on the injured list due to lower-back tightness. In a corresponding move, outfielder Alex Kirilloff is expected to be called up from the minors to join the Twins in Arizona. Polanco hasn't played since last Sunday, and he'll be out at least a little longer. The 28-year-old's MRI exam didn't show any major injury, so there's a good chance Polanco could return when he's eligible. Luis Arraez should continue to see most of the starts at the keystone with Polanco out. Kirilloff hit .359/.465/.641 with a 1.106 OPS, 10 home runs and 32 RBI in 35 games for Triple-A St. Paul to earn a trip back to the majors. The 24-year-old had just five hits in his first 29 at-bats for the Twins but it was likely due to inflammation in his surgically repaired right wrist.

Wed Jun 15 202215:07Jorge Polanco Remains Out Against Mariners
Minnesota Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. Polanco will miss his third straight game with back soreness. Luis Arraez will get the start at the keystone on Wednesday and will hit fifth against Mariners left-hander Marco Gonzales. Arraez makes a lot of contact and his hitting .354 with a great .436 on-base percentage, but he doesn't have a ton of power for fantasy managers with only three home runs and a .427 slugging percentage in 220 plate appearances over 54 games for the Twins. Meanwhile, rookie Jose Miranda is starting at first base and is batting sixth for the Twins. Miranda has been hot in June, going 12-for-39 (.308) with two homers and eight RBI in 11 games.

Fri May 27 202218:21Jorge Polanco Good To Go Friday
Minnesota Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco (ankle) will return to the lineup and bat third against Royals righty Brad Keller on Friday. Polanco missed the last three games with a right ankle injury, but after testing it out on Friday he feels ready to play. He has had a disappointing season so far after his career year in 2021. Second base is not a deep position, unfortunately, so it is likely that even with his struggles Polanco will be one of the better options for Fantasy managers.

Thu May 26 202218:37Jorge Polanco Could Return Friday
Minnesota Twins skipper Rocco Baldelli said that infielder Jorge Polanco (ankle) could be back in the lineup as early as Friday. Luis Arraez is starting at the keystone and is batting sixth against Royals left-hander Daniel Lynch. Polanco is hitting just .232/.333/.364 with four home runs, 24 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases in 177 plate appearances over 41 games this season. Arraez doesn't provide fantasy managers with much power (seven career homers in 281 games), but he's hitting .347 with a .446 on-base percentage in 36 games for the Twins.

The 28-year-old will miss his second straight game on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. The switch-hitter is batting just .232/.333/.364 this year with four home runs, 24 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases in 41 games and 177 plate appearances. Mon Apr 18 202211:03Jorge Polanco Hitting Leadoff Monday
Minnesota Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco is hitting leadoff on Monday against Boston Red Sox left-hander Rich Hill. With Byron Buxton (knee) still sidelined, Polanco will get his first start in the leadoff spot in the Patriots Day game in Boston. It'll give the 28-year-old a chance at an extra at-bat or two, but he'll also lose some valuable RBI opportunities for DFS gamers. Polanco hasn't been that hot to start the season, going 6-for-30 with a home run, three RBI and four runs scored in his first nine games. Luis Arraez, who has hit leadoff for the Twins the last two games, will start Monday's matinee contest on the bench.

Sat Apr 2 202223:31Jorge Polanco Has Just Two Hits This Spring
Minnesota Twins second baseman/shortstop Jorge Polanco has gotten off to a very slow start this spring, slashing .077/.172/.231 with one home run, two RBI, and nine strikeouts in 26 at-bats. Fantasy managers would prefer to see him hitting better, but he had a solid 2021 season, slashing .269/.323/.503 with 33 HR, 98 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. He remains a solid middle infield option for fantasy managers despite his slow spring, especially considering the addition of Carlos Correa to the Twins lineup. Polanco is currently being drafted as the 78th player overall and the 15th middle infielder.

Tue Oct 5 202115:13Jorge Polanco On The Rise Heading Into 2022
Minnesota Twins second baseman/shortstop Jorge Polanco ended his excellent 2021 campaign with a home run and three RBI in his team's win over Kansas City on the season's final day. Polanco slashed .269/.323/.503 with a career-high 33 homers and 98 RBI, 97 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases. Ankle injuries sapped Polanco of his power during the shortened 2020 season, though he had no such trouble in that department this year, posting career bests in barrel rate, exit velocity, launch angle, and hard-hit rate. A late-round discount this year, Polanco will see his ADP rise quite a bit heading into 2022.
